What to watch out for at Twig Fertility – Midtown?

  • warning Limited medical guidance

Several patients note that nurses and doctors provide only brief test results without detailed supplement recommendations, post‑FET instructions, or lifestyle advice, forcing patients to rely on external sources such as Google for critical information.

  • warning Administrative errors and delays

Frequent issues include incorrect test bookings, missing results in the patient portal, delayed follow‑up appointments, and unresponsive communication after consultations, as illustrated by the Erin Barnes and AMH testing experiences.

  • warning Cost transparency concerns

Patients report unexpected price increases for services such as egg storage and feel pressured by high fees for thawing, medication, and repeat cycles. Some describe the clinic as focusing on revenue rather than clear financial counseling.

  • warning Inconsistent staff interactions

While many staff are praised, occasional reports describe rude receptionists (e.g., Elizabeth), unhappy nurses, and late Zoom meetings, suggesting variability in professionalism and empathy across the team.

Initially they seem genuinely concerned with empathy but after a failed IUI done in October 2024, I was immediately pressured to pay for another round of IUI after which i never returned to Twig. No follow up was done especially for a client that already paid for a procedure not yet done and the female doctor that was assigned to me did not probe further, spoke with me casually like it's normal to have a failed procedure without any consideration for the emotional aspect and instead immediately suggested a more expensive option to use donor eggs; I decided to use a different fertility clinic; I am now pregnant through IUI and did not have to use donor eggs.

They are scammers . My wife ended up with ectopic pregnancy only because of them. When she was in the hospital they were still sending a bill of cad 300. Regarding the bills they will try to rip you off. Think 10 times before going there.

After taking 7 years to get pregnant with my first daughter — a spontaneous pregnancy — I wanted to conceive again within a short period of time. Choosing Twig was absolutely the right decision! My initial consultation with NP Madeleine was excellent. She was very attentive, asked many thorough questions, and promptly ordered all the necessary tests. Both my husband and I completed testing, and it was identified that he had an abnormal semen analysis. The clinic immediately prescribed vitamins for him, and after just two months, we achieved another spontaneous pregnancy. Throughout the entire process, the care was consistently outstanding: punctual appointments, very polite and professional staff, and a warm, welcoming environment. They closely followed the early stages of my pregnancy, and even before I became pregnant, they never pushed unnecessary procedures just to make money. Their approach was always ethical, transparent, and truly patient-centered. I recommend this clinic a thousand times over. Exceptional professionals who genuinely care about their patients. 💛

My wife and I had originally wasted a whole year and a half at Anova fertility. I kept suggesting using Letrozole all for my wife and to stop focussing on myself, because my levels were fine but they just would not listen. They even tried to invoice my wife for IVF and we hadn’t even come close to starting it… When we switched to twig, they zoned in on the solution. They got us pregnant in less than 3 months by focussing on my wife and maturing her eggs and it felt like a flash. Twig isn’t trying to make money and hold onto you by your pockets, their biggest focus is to make you happy by delivering on what your desire is. It cost us next to nothing and they did what we couldn’t do for years. I’m extremely pleased with this clinic and their expertise. I had to leave a review and let people know who the best in Toronto is for fertility.

Are we just throwing consent out the window? I’ve been with Twig for over a year now. When we first started, things were great. I was serviced by wonderful female doctors who were kind and compassionate. Today, I was scheduled for a sono, and as I walked into the ultrasound room was VERY surprised to see a male doctor waiting for me. I thought to myself- huh that’s interesting, I don’t think I ever consented to been seen by a male doctor. I’ve now know after speaking to the clinic manager, this is intentional. This clinic has had internal conversations and determined that in order to be inclusive to their DOCTORS, they are not going to get consent from women identifying folk about being seen by a male. As a patient I have so many problems with this. As a brand manager, I have even more. This clinic’s image is well crafted around empathy, compassion, communication, and female forward care. Queer folks, and people who’ve been traumatized will come to this clinic expecting a specific kind of treatment. One that is inclusive and protects PATIENTS not doctors. Inclusivity stands on the foundation of transparent communication. At least give people the option to declare they only want to be seen by a woman. Ask you patients, at the very least. RMTs do that. I was just travelling and a bathroom in Edinburgh had a sign saying “this restroom is serviced by both male and female attendees”. If a public bathroom can communicate and inform their users…I think a fertility clinic can too… I’ve now wasted a ton of mine and my partners time. I have no idea if this policy will change, so if you’re going to this clinic and have specific preferences around your care, speak up in advance because evidently they’ve decided not to ask.
