Decided half way through our second cycle that they didn't have our ID. They did, they lost it. They said that they never had it, which would would mean that they breached HFEA guidelines treating us. They did not warn us of the potential effects of treatment that effectively gave me an overnight menopause (it's par for the course for the second and third cycles, would have been nice to know some of the symptoms in advance...) We asked for our care to be transferred to another provider. Our GP wrote them a letter instructing a consultant to consultant transfer in AUGUST. After a very shouty call from our original consultant we now have the referral to Leeds. They are now refusing to transfer our embryos. Is this the sort of clinic you want handling one of the most sensitive and stressful medical procedures of your life?

There are no words that can truly express our gratitude towards the amazing team at Hull & East Riding Fertility. The service we received was consistently first class right from the moment we were referred to the clinic. We felt reassured from the very beginning and we knew we were in very good hands. This is our first IVF treatment which has resulted with a first time pregnancy at 42. Our lives will be forever changed and this wonderful team of caring & compassionate professionals are part of our story. I don't know what the future holds for us but we will be forever grateful to the superheroes at this clinic. Thank you so much and please keep up the good work. What you are doing matters. Thank you.!!!!

I found the experience challenging from the beginning as I felt like I wasn’t given much help or support. My emails seemed to be lost or ignored on so many occasions, and communication just seemed impossible at times. During my egg collection, I had a serious reaction, the symptoms of OHSS, but the swelling is worse because of fluid build-up in the abdomen and rapid weight gain. I was left feeling extremely confused and deeply saddened that this aftercare didn’t take place and was left with so many unanswered questions. The lack of effort from the lead nurse and my crucial days with the embryo transfer procedure was painful, the only thing is that she uses a large speculum that makes me uncomfortable and extremely challenging and emotional. I was very confused as to a lot of the questions I was being asked and felt I didn’t have enough information or clarity to answer them. It is certainly my biggest regret of my life so far and the hardest I have ever cried for, until today I slipped into a long term depression.

We had 3 failed IVF's and seems like it was never going to happen. Very lucky for us we conceived naturally and went on to have 2 children 3 years apart. The service and care which we received whilst undergoing our IVF was amazing. We felt safe and fortunate to have the staff around us that we had.

We have 2 gorgeous girls thanks to services of Hull IVF unit. We was a bit nervous during our first cycle but the caring compassionate staff really made us feel at ease and our nerves melted away. The unit was very welcoming and the staff were really professional and reassuring which made the whole process so much easier. Would highly recommend this unit and have already passed their details to some friends.
