What to watch out for at Harley Street Fertility Clinic?

  • warning Poor Communication and Follow-Up

Numerous reviews mention inadequate communication from the clinic, including delays in returning calls and unclear information regarding treatment plans. This lack of responsiveness can lead to increased anxiety during an already stressful process.

  • warning Unclear Pricing and Surprise Costs

A common complaint is the lack of transparency around treatment costs. Patients frequently find themselves facing unexpected expenses after already committing financially, which feels misleading and can create a sense of distrust in the clinic.

  • warning Perceived Sales Pressure

Some clients feel that the clinic operates with a sales-oriented mindset, pressuring them into costly treatments instead of providing unbiased medical advice. This perception can detract from the overall patient experience and make clients feel like they are just numbers.

  • warning Rude or Unprofessional Behavior

Negative feedback includes instances of rude or unprofessional treatment from staff members, which can leave patients feeling devalued. Additionally, accusations of staff being dismissive or uncaring during critical moments further your frustration for clients seeking compassion.

  • warning High Emotional Weight with Mixed Results

While there are positive outcomes, many reviews reflect deep emotional distress from failed treatments and poor service experiences. Patients often express feelings of being burdened rather than supported, which is particularly concerning in a field as sensitive as fertility.

After four failed rounds at ARGC over the last four years we were sceptical we would ever get here but our IVF round with HSFC worked first time!!

Hugely grateful to the HSFC team and Dr Venkat for all their amazing help and care. It’s still early but we have a heartbeat and I feel very well supported and in the best possible care. Throughout the process everyone has known my name and provided thoughtful and personalised care. Having all the services - bloods, scans, pharmacy - under one roof also made everything as seamless as possible, which was a huge help as I’m a working mum. Whenever possible the team has tried to accommodate my schedule and was really easy to get hold of via the WaWa app for all sorts of queries.

Dr Venkat is very diligent in her testing but never tests for the sake of it which helps keeps costs down and patient stress levels mangeable. She listens to concerns and acts on them to help reassure whenever needed.

All in all, thank you HSFC for making us feel like there is hope after a really rough few years!! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to go through this process.

The experience with Harley street fertility clinic was very good from the beginning to the end. Doctor Helena provided excellent advise and solutions to us throughout the process. The clinic Team was amazing, specially Chloe the nurse, She was very caring and friendly. And a special shoutout to Mateo the embryologist. He was incredibly warm and friendly, adding a special personal touch to what can be a very sterile and clinical process. Thanks all!

My husband and I both had tests done at HSFC, which was professional and we then had a video call to go through our results. The results implied that my husband was infertile but at no point was it suggested we retake the tests or that there were any options other than IVF. We subsequently went to The Lister Hospital for a second opinion and my husband had the tests redone and it transpires that my husband was not infertile. The Dr at The Lister explained to us that results can be skewed by viruses/ dehydration etc. so you should always retake the tests. This was never suggested to us by HSFC and the call was a hard IVF with no thorough explanation of what was actually wrong with my husband's results. The Dr at The Lister asked me my results and with his advice, we were pregnant within a month and now have a healthy 6 month old. I'm a pragmatic individual but it has taken me over a year to write this review. My advice would purely be that if you get negative results, get a second opinion.

We have been extremely well looked after. All the staff have been wonderful and I’m so glad we started our IVF journey with Dr George and HSFC. We’re not home and dry yet but I couldn’t have asked for a better service.

We are still at the beginning of our journey but the support from Joana and Dr George has been great. We are looking forward to the next steps but are feeling confident we are in the right hands.

Egg and embryo cryopreservation are performed using vitrification, achieving over 90% survival rates after thaw. Embryo development is monitored with the Embryoscope™ time‑lapse incubator, allowing continuous, non‑invasive observation and precise selection of the most promising blastocysts. The clinic also integrates artificial intelligence platforms from Fairtility to enhance embryo grading and selection accuracy. All laboratory processes adhere to HFEA quality standards and are overseen by a senior embryology team led by Sam Knight, ensuring consistent high‑quality assisted reproduction outcomes.

Patients can access donor eggs from both known and anonymous donors, and the clinic also runs an egg‑sharing programme that allows women undergoing IVF to donate surplus eggs to other patients, reducing costs for both parties. The donor screening process includes comprehensive medical, genetic and infectious disease testing to ensure safety and compatibility. Clinical pregnancy rates for donor‑egg cycles are among the highest in the UK, reflecting the clinic’s rigorous selection and advanced laboratory protocols.

What is the maximum age for IVF treatment at Harley Street Fertility Clinic? expand_more
Harley Street Fertility Clinic does not enforce a strict upper age limit for IVF; instead, each patient undergoes an individual assessment that considers ovarian reserve, overall health, and personal circumstances. While the clinic welcomes patients of all ages, success rates naturally decline with advancing maternal age, as reflected in the clinic’s data (44% clinical pregnancy rate for women over 40). The team works closely with patients to determine the most appropriate protocol, discuss realistic expectations, and explore alternatives such as donor‑egg IVF when age‑related factors reduce the likelihood of a successful outcome.

Harley Street Fertility Clinic is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusivity and provides fertility services for same‑sex couples. Female couples can access donor‑egg IVF, IUI with donor sperm, and the ROPA (Reception of Oocytes from Partner) method, while male couples are supported through donor‑sperm IVF and IUI programmes. The clinic’s multidisciplinary team offers specialised counselling, legal guidance for surrogacy, and tailored treatment pathways that respect each couple’s unique family‑building goals.
What are the IVF success rates at Harley Street Fertility Clinic? expand_more

When pre‑implantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT‑A) is used, the clinic achieves a 78% clinical pregnancy rate (82 transfers, 64 pregnancies). Birth rates per embryo transferred are 49% for patients under 38 and 27% for those 38 and older, both well above the national averages of 34% and 17% respectively. These results reflect the clinic’s use of frozen embryo transfers, advanced laboratory protocols, and a personalised, data‑driven approach to in‑vitro fertilisation.
