If you’re navigating infertility, I hope you stay hopeful and give yourself grace. My husband and I started trying to conceive four years ago. After a year of no success, my OBGYN recommended surgery for suspected endometriosis due to my debilitating periods. Testing showed my tubes were open, and surgery revealed stage 1 endometriosis. Unfortunately, surgery is the only way to confirm this diagnosis. We tried naturally for another year, but with no success and no clear answers, we were diagnosed with unexplained infertility. My husband’s sperm was healthy, and our full health exams revealed no issues. Thankfully, my OBGYN referred us to Dr. Sundheimer at Kindbody, and I’m forever grateful for the care we received. Infertility is one of the most isolating and challenging experiences, but Dr. S and her team made us feel supported and cared for every step of the way. They patiently answered all our questions and worked with us to create a plan tailored to our needs. Their specialized team ensures you always have someone knowledgeable to assist, whether it’s billing, medication, or after-hours support. We started with one round of IUI, which was unsuccessful, and decided to move straight to IVF. Due to my endometriosis, I went on Lupron to suppress inflammation, which I believe made a huge difference. We did three embryo transfers: the first failed, the second resulted in a chemical pregnancy, and the third brought us the miracle we prayed for. We are now 16 weeks pregnant and overjoyed. Special shoutouts to the Kindbody team: Kiana, Emilia and Joanna were pillars of support during countless pelvic ultrasounds, blood draws, always lifting my spirits. Aphril always ensured I stayed on track with medication and protocols, and the front desk staff, Tea and Isabel, greeted me with positivity every morning. Dr. Armstrong performed our final transfer, and we felt completely at ease with her care. Kindbody’s clean, beautifully designed facilities made a difference on stressful days, creating a calming environment. I can't imagine my IVF experience without Dr. Sundheimer. Going the solo motherhood route can be harrowing, but never felt like I was alone having her as my doctor. She consulted with her myriad of resources at Kindbody when my first egg retrieval didn't go as planned, causing the second one to result in two healthy embryos, and a successful first frozen implantation.
