Our experience at Create Fertility (St Paul’s, London) has been marked by poor communication and a lack of coordination. The clinic’s “patient coordinator” model hasn’t functioned as a support system for us—there have been long stretches with no proactive contact, no clear ownership of next steps, and uncertainty about who is responsible for our case. Instead of feeling guided, we’ve often felt we were chasing information and stitching the process together ourselves.
Appointments have also felt poorly managed, with delays that add even more strain to days that are already emotionally loaded. When you need answers quickly, getting hold of the clinic can be difficult, and responses are not consistently timely.
If you are pursuing the egg donor route that involves working with IVI Madrid, be aware that coordination between clinics may fall heavily on you as the patient. The contrast has been noticeable: the Madrid-side transfer process has been efficient, and the blood draw staff in London have been consistently good. Unfortunately, the overall London-side support has not matched what this kind of journey demands.
This review is to help future patients know what to expect and to encourage Create to improve the basic standards of communication, continuity, and care.
UPDATE: I emailed a complaint in about the lack of care I'm receiving with hopes that it would help progress our treatment. Instead, I'm told that the the complaint needs to be resolved BEFORE my treatment can resume!! So my treatment hinges on Create fixing poor internal processes that have been on going for years now. I feel that I am being penalized as a patient for raising a concern. Despite raising a complaint, I have yet to hear from anyone for days now. Time is ticking away and we're not closer to having the family we dreamed of.
