smart_toy AI-generated based on information from the clinic's website

Does UR CEFIVA treat single women seeking fertility treatment? expand_more
UR CEFIVA explicitly welcomes single women who wish to preserve or achieve fertility. The clinic’s vitrification of oocytes is indicated for “women young with or without a partner who want to postpone motherhood,” and the ovodonation programme accepts solo‑mother candidates. Comprehensive diagnostic work‑ups, personalized hormonal stimulation and access to donor eggs ensure that single women receive the same high‑quality IVF, ICSI and embryo transfer options as couples.
What is the maximum age for IVF treatment at UR CEFIVA? expand_more
UR CEFIVA reports successful IVF outcomes up to 45 years of age, with specific success rates provided for the 40‑45 age group. For embryo adoption (embriodonación) the clinic sets an upper age limit of 55 years for the female recipient, provided she has a functional uterus and no contraindicating health conditions. While the centre does not state an absolute cut‑off for all IVF cycles, the published data and age‑stratified success rates indicate that patients up to 45 years are routinely treated, with individualized assessment for older candidates.
What IVF laboratory technology does UR CEFIVA use? expand_more
UR CEFIVA’s IVF laboratory is equipped with cutting‑edge technologies, including the EmbryoScope time‑lapse incubator that continuously monitors embryo development without disturbing culture conditions. The centre also employs MACS (Magnetic‑Activated Cell Sorting) for sperm selection, the Chip Fertile and Matching Genético platforms for genetic matching, and the GAVI automated vitrification system for rapid oocyte freezing. For traceability, UR CEFIVA uses the Gidget electronic witness system, which scans QR‑coded labels on all samples and consumables, ensuring zero‑error identification throughout the fertilization process.
Does UR CEFIVA provide fertility treatment for same‑sex couples? expand_more
UR CEFIVA offers inclusive services for same‑sex couples, including the ROPA (Reciprocal Oocyte Partner Assisted) method for female couples, which allows one partner to provide the eggs while the other carries the pregnancy. The clinic also supports male couples through donor‑egg cycles and embryo adoption, and its Fenomatch AI tool matches donors to both lesbian and gay patients based on phenotypic and genetic compatibility. These protocols demonstrate UR CEFIVA’s commitment to LGBTQ+ family building.
What is the history and background of UR CEFIVA? expand_more
UR CEFIVA was founded in 1989 by Dr. Pedro de la Fuente, making it the first assisted‑reproduction centre in Asturias. Over more than 35 years the clinic has helped thousands of couples become parents and was among the earliest Spanish centres authorized to perform oocyte vitrification in 2009. Since 2020 UR CEFIVA has been part of the international UR Group, expanding its reach and adopting the latest technologies. The clinic’s milestones include the introduction of ICSI in 1995, the first embryo freezing program in 1989, and the launch of automated vitrification (GAVI) in 2018, all contributing to its reputation for high success rates and innovative care.
What fertility treatments and services does UR CEFIVA offer? expand_more
UR CEFIVA provides a full spectrum of assisted reproduction services, including in‑vitro fertilization (IVF) with ICSI, conventional intrauterine insemination (IUI) and IUI with donor semen, egg freezing and ovodonation, and embryo adoption (embriodonación). The clinic also offers pre‑implantation genetic testing (PGT‑A), the ROPA method for female couples, treatment for serodiscordant HIV/HCV couples, TESE for severe male factor infertility, and comprehensive fertility preservation for both women and men. Additional specialized programs such as micro‑injection (ICSI), diagnostic genetic pre‑implantation (DGP), and personalized hormonal stimulation complete the centre’s extensive portfolio.
Does UR CEFIVA offer egg donation for IVF treatment? expand_more
Yes, UR CEFIVA runs a dedicated ovodonation programme. The clinic provides donor‑egg cycles for women with ovarian failure, premature menopause, cancer‑related infertility, repeated IVF failures or genetic conditions that preclude the use of their own eggs. Donor screening follows the Spanish Law 14/2006, including serological, genetic and hormonal testing, and the process is fully anonymous. Success rates for ovodonation cycles are reported at 80 % for patients under 35, 67 % for ages 36‑40 and 74 % for ages 40‑45, reflecting the high pregnancy potential of donor eggs.
Who are the fertility doctors and specialists at UR CEFIVA? expand_more
UR CEFIVA’s medical team is led by Dr. Pedro de la Fuente, the founder and director general, a renowned reproductive endocrinologist. The team also includes Dr. Luis Castellanos, an andrologist who created Asturias’ first semen bank, and Dr. Rocío Núñez, responsible for the scientific area of the UR Group. Laboratory leadership is provided by Pilar Nieto, director of the embryology lab, and Inmaculada Barros, head of the andrology laboratory. Together with a group of senior embryologists, reproductive specialists and dedicated nurses, the multidisciplinary team ensures comprehensive care throughout every assisted reproduction cycle.
What are the IVF success rates at UR CEFIVA? expand_more
UR CEFIVA reports an accumulated gestation rate for ICSI cycles, which reflects in‑vitro fertilization outcomes, of 56 % for women under 35 years, 44.52 % for ages 36‑40 and 26.8 % for ages 40‑45. For ovodonation cycles the clinic achieves 80 % success in patients under 35, 67 % in the 36‑40 age group and 74 % in the 40‑45 range. These figures are based on the clinic’s audited data and include both fresh embryo transfers and all subsequent cryotransfers derived from the same stimulation. The results demonstrate the centre’s high pregnancy rates across age groups, especially when donor eggs are used, and underline the impact of advanced laboratory protocols on IVF success.
