Disappointing Experience... We went there for fertility Doctor consultation, I didn’t feel even one moment that I am sitting with a Doctor. She talked and asked about things out of the subject not related at all to what we came for. No Professionalism, we didn’t feel comfortable, they look materialistic and careless.

TFP Ciconia Fertility - FAQ

smart_toy AI-generated based on information from the clinic's website

What is the maximum age for IVF treatment at TFP Fertility? expand_more
TFP Fertility generally treats patients up to age 45 for IVF cycles, with specific pathways for older women using donor eggs to optimise success. The clinic’s “IVF for over 40s” programme recommends donor‑egg treatment for patients over 45, as donor gametes significantly improve pregnancy odds. Age‑related success data are published on the clinic’s website, showing a gradual decline in live‑birth rates after age 40, but still offering viable options through donor‑egg or frozen‑embryo transfer strategies.
What is the history and background of TFP Fertility? expand_more
TFP Fertility was founded in 1979 and has grown into an international network of private fertility clinics across the UK, Poland and the Netherlands. With more than 35 years of pioneering research, the group originated from a collaboration with the University of Nottingham in 1991, establishing the Nurture Fertility centre as a hub for IVF innovation. Today, TFP operates eight main UK clinics and over 16 satellite sites, serving thousands of patients annually. The clinics are regulated by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) and hold multiple accreditations for clinical excellence, research contributions, and patient‑centred care.
Does TFP Fertility provide fertility treatment for same-sex couples? expand_more
TFP Fertility is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusivity and offers a full range of fertility services for same‑sex couples. Female couples can access reciprocal IVF (ROPA) and donor‑egg programmes, while male couples are supported through surrogacy arrangements and donor‑sperm IVF. The clinic’s policies explicitly state support for same‑sex families, and its experienced team has facilitated numerous successful pregnancies for LGBTQ+ patients, providing tailored medical, legal and emotional guidance throughout the process.
Does TFP Fertility offer egg donation for IVF treatment? expand_more
Yes, TFP Fertility runs a fully accredited egg donation programme that matches donors with recipients across its UK network. Prospective donors must be aged 19‑35, have a BMI of 18‑34.9, be non‑smokers for at least three months, and pass comprehensive health and genetic screening. Recipients benefit from a screened donor pool, with donor eggs used in both fresh and frozen IVF cycles to improve pregnancy chances, especially for patients over 40. The clinic reports higher success rates for donor‑egg IVF, reflecting the high quality of donor gametes and the advanced laboratory environment.
What IVF laboratory technology does TFP Fertility use? expand_more
The TFP Fertility laboratory employs state‑of‑the‑art technologies to maximise embryo quality and implantation potential. Key equipment includes time‑lapse imaging systems for continuous embryo monitoring, Vitrolife’s embryo‑selection platform used in collaborative research studies, and a vitrification system for rapid flash‑freezing of eggs, sperm and embryos. The lab is certified for Pre‑implantation Genetic Testing (PGT) and operates under HFEA‑approved quality standards, ensuring rigorous embryo culture conditions and blastocyst development up to day 5‑6 before transfer. These advanced tools support higher pregnancy rates and enable precise embryo selection for both fresh and frozen cycles.
What fertility treatments and services does TFP Fertility offer? expand_more
TFP Fertility provides a comprehensive suite of assisted reproduction options, including conventional in‑vitro fertilisation (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) for male factor infertility, and intrauterine insemination (IUI) for less invasive cycles. The clinic also offers fertility preservation services such as egg, sperm and embryo freezing using vitrification, natural and mild IVF protocols, and IVF for patients over 40 with donor‑egg programmes. Specialized programmes include pre‑implantation genetic testing (PGT‑A and PGT‑M), reciprocal IVF for female couples, solo‑parent pathways using donor sperm, and full‑surrogacy support. Additional services encompass egg sharing, donor egg and sperm programmes, and comprehensive counselling throughout the treatment journey.
What are the IVF success rates at TFP Fertility? expand_more
TFP Fertility reports an overall pregnancy rate of 44% per embryo transfer for women under 35, with success gradually decreasing by age: 37% for ages 35‑37, 31% for ages 38‑39, 22% for ages 40‑42, and 21% for ages 43‑44, based on HFEA data for the 2023 reporting year. The clinic’s frozen‑embryo transfer (FET) success is particularly strong, achieving a 51% pregnancy rate in 2023 for frozen cycles across all clinics, and 45% for patients under 35 at the Nurture Fertility site. All figures are independently audited by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA), ensuring transparency and compliance with UK regulatory standards. These outcomes reflect the clinic’s use of advanced laboratory protocols, personalized treatment plans, and a high proportion of blastocyst‑stage embryo transfers.
Does TFP Fertility treat single women seeking fertility treatment? expand_more
TFP Fertility explicitly welcomes single women who wish to build a family through assisted reproduction. The clinic offers solo‑parent pathways that include IVF with donor eggs or sperm, IUI with donor sperm, and fertility preservation options such as egg freezing. Dedicated counselling and support services are provided to address the unique emotional and logistical considerations of single parenthood, ensuring a compassionate and personalized treatment experience.
