What to watch out for at Seattle Reproductive Medicine?

  • warning Billing Errors and Unexpected Costs

Multiple patients experienced inaccurate insurance claims, duplicate bills, and large discrepancies that required extensive manual review. Overcharges and delayed refunds have caused significant financial stress.

  • warning Poor Front‑Desk and Scheduling Responsiveness

Receptionists often fail to schedule appointments, return calls, or provide accurate portal links. Patients report rude interactions, missed cancellations, and difficulty reaching staff during holidays.

  • warning Lack of Family‑Friendly Waiting Areas

The clinic does not provide separate rooms for families, forcing childless patients to sit with children or separating partners during procedures. This environment adds emotional discomfort during sensitive visits.

  • warning Administrative and Paperwork Mistakes

Donor sperm paperwork has been mishandled, patient gender entries were incorrectly recorded, and test results are sometimes posted to portals without personal notification, creating confusion and delays.

Working with SRM was great. All the staff were very kind, understanding and proficient in what they do. I don’t believe I would be here at 16 weeks pregnant if it weren’t for Megan Jacklin. She is the best and the Tacoma office is lucky to have such a well rounded nurse practitioner and midwife. I have had excruciating pain whenever anything goes through my cervix in the past. Whether that was an IUD insertion/removal, fertility testing or an IUI, it was awful. I was talking through options of whether or not I could go through another one and what my options were. I decided to try again and do it anyway after the first IUI was unsuccessful even though it was really painful. Megan did my second one and talked me through the whole thing. She was able to help me with my breathing and lower the lights as well as explain what she was doing. We got to the last step where she was going to do it and said she was already done! I didn’t feel a thing, it was amazing. Now I know that might not be the case every time but it’s amazing what those techniques can do and she is a rockstar. Dr Mazur was quick to jump on calls, answer questions and be understanding about what we were feeling throughout the process as well. Only issue I had with the office was the billing. I think there were other reviews that also had issues with billing. If you have fertility benefits on your plan just make sure they do it correctly. I only had 2 IUI’s and yet all the cycles where I was just taking the medication and doing ultrasounds with timed intercourse were billed as IUI packages. Super annoying, just check to make sure they are billing correctly as follicular ultrasounds if that is all you are getting. Still hasn’t been fixed but at this point I think it’s just the insurance company that has overpaid by thousands although I’ve tried calling multiple times to fix it over the last 6+ months. Also make sure to call them out if they say you owe at your appointment and you know it should be different. They would often say that to me and it wasn’t accurate. At one point I had overpaid by a lot of money. CHECK YOUR BILLING CODES. And don’t trust the financial advisors and their quotes, mine were never right and then when I called to fix things they never were fixed. I ended up going in for cycles and having them zero out the expected cost you have to sign off on before treatment because we were “waiting for it to be fixed”. Finally started billing correctly in the end but all the issues in the middle never got solved.

I started my journey with SRM Tacoma in April 2023. I was assigned to Dr. Mazur. We went through 3 rounds of egg retrieval and 4 rounds of embryo transfer. I just had my twins last September! Dr. Mazur was very passionate about all our concerns and planned accordingly with each attempt. We never got the chance to have any procedure under his shift, but he did the ultrasound that revealed our twins with heartbeats! To all of you, while it might look like there is no light at the end of the tunnel, keep positive, and it might just happen! Life is full of surprises!
