Did not find on the website but they REQUIRE a certain BMI and will refuse treatment unless you meet it. For same sex couples, I do not recommend this facility. We do not have known fertility problems but were fed statistics with severely low success rates for IUI. Those statistics were for people with fertility problems, not same sex couples. Had we not already been through a successful IUI treatment at another facility and already had IUI sperm in storage, she would have tried to convince us to do IVF (more expensive). She also tried to set a plan for trigger shots and medication that we did not need, NO KNOWN FERTILITY ISSUES. I'm not confident in her knowledge, especially to be offering treatment to same sex couples.

Review of a fertility clinic experience under Dr. Celeste Brabec, where the patient felt judged, dismissed, and humiliated due to a lack of empathy and poor communication. The doctor made negative assumptions based on the patient's marijuana use, and thei

Walking into a fertility clinic, I expected empathy, professionalism, and support. Unfortunately, that is not what we received from Dr. Celeste Brabec. My boyfriend and I went to the Reproductive Resource Center for guidance on our fertility. We were hopeful, open-minded, and ready to learn what steps we needed to take to start a family. This is a deeply sensitive topic for us because I suffered a traumatic miscarriage last March, which led to a D&C, then Misoprostol, and then another D&C due to retained tissue caused by my bicornuate uterus. Walking into a fertility clinic, I expected empathy, professionalism, and support. Unfortunately, that is not what we received from Dr. Celeste Brabec. During the appointment, Dr. Brabec asked about lifestyle habits such as tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana. I was honest and told her I use marijuana at night to help me sleep. Instead of providing guidance or asking follow-up questions, she immediately responded, “That’ll cause a miscarriage.” As someone who has already been through one, that comment was insensitive, alarming, and delivered without compassion. She then asked about my medications, and I explained that I take Prozac, Trazodone, and occasionally an emergency Xanax for panic attacks — all prescribed and taken responsibly. Even after explaining that I had stopped these medications during my previous pregnancy, she showed no acknowledgment or understanding. What was even more inappropriate was the timing of her questions. While I was physically exposed, uncomfortable, and undergoing a speculum exam and ultrasound, she questioned me about the details of my miscarriage and D&Cs. I was visibly uncomfortable and in pain, and instead of pausing or showing awareness, she rushed me and told me she “needed a pen and paper.” The lack of bedside manner was astonishing. After the exam, we sat down again, and although she said my heart-shaped uterus wasn’t a major issue, it contradicted what my previous OB-GYN told me during my miscarriage. This left me confused and uneasy. When discussing my periods and PCOS, the way she worded her questions was unclear, and when I asked for clarification, she became visibly frustrated. The final blow was when she told us she did not want to treat us because of my marijuana use — even though I clearly stated I would stop for treatment. She then made inappropriate assumptions, implying that we looked “tired” and suggesting that we had driven to the appointment under the influence. This was completely false, unprofessional, and extremely offensive. I was stunned that a medical professional would make such accusations simply because I was honest about something I do at night to sleep. We were left feeling judged, dismissed, and humiliated — the complete opposite of what any couple should feel when seeking help with fertility after miscarriage trauma. Instead of compassion, we were met with assumptions, frustration, and a complete lack of empathy. This experience was deeply upsetting for us, especially after all the emotional and physical pain we’ve already been through. I will not be returning to this clinic, and I cannot recommend Dr. Brabec. Bedside manner matters, and so does treating patients with respect — especially those who are vulnerable and simply seeking guidance and hope.
