DO NOT GO HERE.

If you have the option, I would strongly encourage you to consider other clinics - and other countries - before freezing your eggs/IVF here. In many international clinics you can receive more advanced technologies, higher quality individualized care, and significantly better value for money.

I went through two egg freezing cycles with Olive. I cannot recommend this clinic.

1. LACK OF PHYSICIAN INVOLVEMENT

In my case, the assigned doctor appeared primarily at the consultation stage when the contract was signed. After that, I had little to no direct access to the physician. My cycle management was handled entirely by nurses following what appeared to be a standardized protocol.

My specific medical profile, risks, or prior response were not meaningfully evaluated and protocols were not adjusted individually on a level I expect. Even when complications or concerns arose, I did not experience active physician oversight.

2. MEDICATION AND PROTOCOL ERRORS

A major issue was the number of errors related to medication prescriptions and treatment schedules. These were not minor administrative inconsistencies — they directly affected the protocol I followed and my results.

Because of these mistakes, it would end up using incorrect dosages and timelines unless you personally double-check everything and really FIGHT against Olive to prove them they made mistakes. In fertility treatment, protocol precision directly impacts the outcome. You are paying for a medical result — for the number and quality of eggs retrieved. If the protocol is incorrect due to clinic errors, your outcome may be significantly worse than it could have been.

Incorrect medication also carries health risks. Errors in instructions are unacceptable.

3. COMMUNICATION AND SERVICE QUALITY

Communication was consistently poor. The dispensary/pharmacy team, in particular, made repeated serious mistakes during both of my cycles. Each interaction felt chaotic and error-prone. In a process that already carries emotional and physical stress, this level of service adds unnecessary risk and anxiety.

4. STANDARDIZED APPROACH INSTEAD OF INDIVIDUALIZED CARE

I did not observe a truly personalized approach. Instead, the clinic seems to rely on standardized, “average” protocols that may work statistically but are not working for individual patient’s best outcomes.

Egg freezing is not a generic service. It requires careful risk assessment and protocol tailoring — something I did not experience here.

5. LACK OF ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES

Many international clinics now offer in vitro maturation (IVM), allowing immature retrieved oocytes to mature in laboratory conditions and potentially improve overall outcomes. This technology is not offered here. Patients should be aware that more advanced options may exist elsewhere.

6. FINANCIAL ISSUES AND BILLING DISPUTES

I experienced two major billing problems:
• I was invoiced for medications that were either not mine or prescribed in quantities far exceeding what was required under my protocol. Resolving this required significant effort and resistance on my side. And almost cost me another grand.
• I was charged out-of-pocket for services that should have been covered under MSP. The front desk tried to convince me that my MSP was inactive and that “they just checked it yesterday”, and this was a lie. As a result, I paid privately and later discovered I cannot obtain reimbursement from Health BC, partly because private charges exceed MSP reimbursement rates MANY times.

Egg freezing is physically demanding, emotionally vulnerable, and extremely expensive. It requires precision at every step, accountability, and personalized medical care. Unfortunately, my experience at Olive did not meet that standard.

I would strongly advise patients to thoroughly research alternatives before committing to treatment here.

I had good results. We got pregnant! I would recommend anyone to come here. Just keep in mind that nothing is guaranteed, we had to go under two cycles. Both cycles with different protocols and different results. First cycle we had several eggs but only one embryo worth to transfer. On the second cycle, we got less egg but 3 great tested embryos. This is a private company so keep in mind that they need to keep doing business. Remind them about your choices, example: on the first cycle we wanted Iccsi but they forgot or didn’t do it since the sperm looked good. The genetics test also, remind them that. It seems odd but yes, you need to remind them your choices. The treat is not what you expect, specially the older receptionist, she is rude all the time. Also some Doctors when doing the ultrasound seems to be in a rush to get more patients in, or they are to abrupt telling trues. I recommend Dr Taylor, Dr Whitehead and all nurses! Remember this is a private company so money matters, be ready to do at least two cycles like me. Also recommend the acupuncture and strict diet, it did worked for our second cycle; we also had a different protocol, so, many variables to ensure if it works or not but just minimize the risk and go on strict diet and take vitamins.

Presents itself as queer-affirming, but staff repeatedly misgendered and excluded a non-gestational queer partner despite collecting pronouns and requiring administrative participation.

Communication and access were mishandled, and when these harms were clearly raised, accountability and transparency were declined, with the clinic stating it does not provide “individualized, case-by-case explanations.” The care delivered does not match the values advertised.

Had two cycles with them and got only two middle grade embryos which both failed when inserted. Went to another provider and got two 4AA embryo on the first try and we now have a beautiful baby girl. If their protocol doesn’t work for you, don’t waste your time by trying it again. Move on to another provider with a different protocol. My wife and I totally regret going to here and wasting our time, money, and energy. Nurses were nice but doctors didn’t provide any reasons for the failures… just wanted us to keep trying.

Worst experience & I haven’t even been to the clinic yet. I have been trying to get a hold of them for 1 year now. Needed to book a HSG test and couldn’t even get a call back.

What is the maximum age for IVF treatment at Olive Fertility Centre? expand_more
Olive Fertility Centre follows the eligibility criteria of the B.C. Ministry of Health Publicly Funded IVF Program, which caps funding for patients up to 41 years of age at the time of embryo transfer. While the publicly funded program applies this age limit, Olive’s clinical practice can consider IVF for patients beyond 41 years on a case‑by‑case basis, evaluating ovarian reserve, overall health, and individual prognosis. The clinic provides thorough counseling on age‑related success rates, noting that pregnancy chances gradually decline after age 35 but remain viable with personalized protocols and advanced laboratory techniques.
Does Olive Fertility Centre treat single women seeking fertility treatment? expand_more

In addition, the centre’s preimplantation genetic testing workflow is supported by next‑generation sequencing platforms, enabling comprehensive PGT‑A, PGT‑M, and PGT‑SR analyses. These technologies, combined with rigorous embryologist training and continuous quality‑control audits, underpin the clinic’s high pregnancy and live‑birth rates.
