We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Aubuchon and all the staff at MCRM. Struggling with fertility is never an easy experience and we were so grateful to have such an amazing and kind team with us every step of the way. IVF is a very overwhelming process but Dr. Aubuchon and team were with us every step of the way answering questions and holding my hand as I cried on multiple occasions. After 2 embryo transfers we finally got our beautiful baby girl. Finally having her with us has made everything worth it!

My wife and I underwent several IUIs and eventually received donated embryos. Our second transfer in Aug2023 resulted in our baby girl and we are excited to start the process again soon to continue building our family! Our nurse coordinator, Lauren, was responsive, thorough, and understanding. She answered all of our questions without ever making us feel like we were a burden. Additionally, all of the nurses who prepare you for appointments were always kind and friendly. Our financial coordinator, Katie, walked us through the entire process with so much empathy and care. When our first transfer was unsuccessful she made an effort to see us for every blood draw visit. She brought light and levity to a very stressful time. We're excited to see our team again and for them to help us build our family!

Lisa at the front registration desk is the first person you’ll meet… she’s AMAZING! Be nice to her!!! The nursing staff, phlebotomy and the anesthesia group are all top notch! And even though you don’t see the doctors much but they are all so wonderful!

I am a previous patient of this fertility clinic. I asked my doctor about the possibility of me having endometriosis due to my symptoms and infertility. I was told that my tubes were open, so endometriosis was unlikely. I was quickly labeled with “unexplained infertility,” and we began the IUI process. After being brought to the ER following my second IUI due to complications, I was told IVF was my only option. We completed the IVF consultation, but I didn’t feel good about it and never returned to the clinic. Fast forward to June of 2025, I finally found a specialist not affiliated with MCRM who performed a laparoscopic procedure that uncovered severe, deep infiltrating, stage 4 endometriosis. (Turns out my “unexplained infertility” wasn’t so unexplained.) I am already facing the possibility of needing another surgery less than a year after my last due to how advanced my disease had become over the years. If you are someone who is labeled as having “unexplained infertility,” I would strongly encourage seeking a second opinion before proceeding.

I have been dealing with this fertility center for almost two years, and the experience has been exhausting, disorganized, and deeply disrespectful of patients’ time, bodies, and finances. After an initial visit where I completed vitals, questionnaires, and interviews, I was told I’d be contacted when needed. What followed was nearly two years of repeated scheduling and cancellations. I was told at different points that they had too many donors, that they were “not needing Black donors at this time,” and later that there was suddenly a “big need for Black donors.” This constant back-and-forth created false urgency and wasted time. I was placed on a December cycle last year but was never contacted with dates or instructions, so nothing moved forward. Then I was contacted again months later asking if I was still interested due to donor shortages. At that point, I had recently had a non-hormonal IUD placed. Dr. Jacob told me it had to be removed, and he removed it while I was actively on my period (period started 11/29, IUD removed 12/2). He then prescribed progestin-only birth control pills (POPs), which were out of stock at Walgreens, delaying my start until 12/5 — after my period had already ended. This poor timing was never properly addressed. I was placed on POPs, ran out, and requested more birth control prior to my scan. Dr. Jacob said he could prescribe more but questioned whether my insurance would cover it, despite the fact that this medication was required for their donation protocol. I ultimately had to pay out of pocket for the birth control and was told I would be refunded if I had to pay. While the amount was small, I was never reimbursed, and patients should not be expected to front money or rely on their own insurance for medications required by a fertility clinic. He also stated that any birth control brand would work, which made it clear that I never needed to have my IUD removed in the first place — an unnecessary intervention that disrupted my body and cycle. Egg donation also requires frequent appointments, making it extremely difficult to maintain regular employment, yet compensation is only $5,000 total, with $1,000 withheld for six months contingent on compliance. This structure feels exploitative given the demands placed on donors. At my most recent appointment, Dr. Jacob performed an ultrasound and told me I had a cyst, brushed past it, counted follicles, then abruptly said the entire cycle was canceled because of the cyst. He minimized it as “just a cyst,” yet said it was serious enough to disqualify me from donating. I was told to wait for another period and rescan in a month. Naturally, I was alarmed. There was no clear explanation, reassurance, or urgency. As I was leaving the exam room, Dr. Jacob shouted across the office asking if I had scheduled an OB-GYN appointment — while I was still sitting in his clinic. If it was urgent, it should not have been dismissed. If it wasn’t urgent, canceling everything made no sense. The front desk then ran after me asking whether I wanted them to rescan me or go to my own doctor — clearly attempting to keep me in their donor pipeline. I declined and asked to be removed from their list. When I asked whether the IUD removal could have contributed to the cyst, I was told “possibly.” This entire experience reflects poor medical management, inconsistent communication, unnecessary interventions, broken promises, and a lack of respect for patients’ time, finances, and health. After nearly two years of being strung along, I would strongly advise anyone — especially Black women — to think twice before trusting this center.
