IVF clinic has long waiting times, poor communication, and inefficient process. May not meet scheduled treatment dates. Patient experienced frustration and disappointment.

I am sad and disappointed of the inefficiency of this place. I was offered a March appointment which somehow ended up being offered to someone else. I am now to be seen in May and even that is not certain, after numerous months of playing phone tag. Funny yet still sad, when calling the infertility clinic, they are asking about the reason for the call. I am not sure, perhaps a cheese pizza with a side of efficient?

The reviewer had a positive experience at Johns Hopkins Fertility Center (JHFC), with supportive doctors and staff. They were disappointed with their previous experience at Shady Grove Fertility (SGF). JHFC has a more personalized approach with interactio

I’m shocked by the number of 1 star reviews. Johns Hopkins Fertility Center (JHFC) has been nothing but a positive, uplifting and supportive experience for me after wasting two years at Shady Grove Fertility (SGF). The experiences have been night and day. At SGF the doctors are like the Wizard of Oz that sit behind a computer locked in an office all day. The only time you ever interact with them is doing your consultation or when there’s bad news. Every ultrasound and procedure is performed by a tech, reviewed by the doctor and then the nurse is the one that communicates results. There are never appointments or interactions with the doctors. At JHFC you see a doctor at every appointment and have one primary doctor that manages your case closely. And although you don’t always see the same doctor at your appointments, every single doctor, resident, nurse and tech I’ve interacted with has been professional, transparent and sympathetic. Everyone is kind and positive… at SGF good luck— you may meet one or two decent people but overall they’re all disgruntled and detached. A special shout out to Dr. Hosseinzadeh. She’s inquisitive, she listens and she’s thoughtful in prescribing the protocol that is right for your individual situation. Dr. Hosseinzadeh leverages her professional colleagues to collaboratively find solutions and she’s clear in communication with other doctors and us as patients. Dr. Baker and Dr. Moragianni are also great…great bedside manner, willing to spend time explaining things and forthcoming. For anyone reading these reviews and focusing on the negative— I cannot warn you enough: do not waste your time at SGF. They don’t put the rigor and science into the process, they blindly follow the same, boring protocols and can’t explain things. Also, SGF is managed by an investment firm (do you want venture capitalist making decisions about your health!?)… JHFC is the real deal. You’ll get answers and plans there. Yea, there have been a few logistical hiccups at JHFC but that’s par for the course. No matter the medical field, you always have to be your own advocate and be proactive in managing your health, especially something as complex as fertility treatments. JHFC is doing it right. Kudos to JHFC and the entire team there.

All front desk staff especially Melony were very kind.Great nurses who responded promptly to me.The medical assistant and phlebotomists were very professional. Keep the good work..K for Kathleen(embryologist) for assisting the Drs to hold the US Probe. IVF Clinic and Theatre nurses are great heros. Excellent IVF clinic with high success rate. Experienced staff and professional services. Patients are very satisfied with the services.

This review is based on all of my experiences prior to switching over to Dr. Hinton. Do not go here unless you are a relentless self-advocate for your own care. While we are trying to make an exact science out of something that isn’t one (every person’s body is different), my ovulation was missed two cycles in a row here. The most recent doctor I’ve been working with actually disagrees with the call made to not have us move forward with IUI last cycle, which is such a gut punch. They are incredibly disorganized and do not treat patients individually IMO; what’s sad about this is I find many people choose Hopkins over SGF as the Hopkins brand is known as being the “puzzle piece people”. Not so here. This past cycle I’ve requested to see the doctor on staff versus the fellows for each monitoring appointment, as I feel the lack of oversight is what led to the bad call the cycle before; which aforementioned the doctor I’m working with now agrees was poor advice. We also have close family friends who we found out recently went through Hopkins and said point blank “do not waste your time”. I have spoken with the practice manager and encourage anyone with constructive feedback to do the same. The fertility journey is difficult enough without having to micromanage a clinic that can’t get its “stuff” together.

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Johns Hopkins Fertility. Dr. Hinton specifically is a phenomenal doctor and surgeon. She is incredibly thorough and kind, she always answered all our questions and put our minds at ease. It was discovered that I had endometriosis during this process which was a huge shock, but Dr. Hinton assured me it was going to be ok and she did an amazing job with the surgery to remove it. She is very skilled in endometriosis excision surgery. We ended up needing to do IVF and they made the whole process very straightforward and manageable. The entire staff here was always so nice and helpful - we are very grateful to have this level of care so close to home!
