What a terrible experience from beginning to end. First of all, they only communicate via the prelude app. This app doesn’t open 50% of the time, and does not notify you the other 50% of the time that you have a new message. Secondly, the women that work at the reception area are apathetically rude. They are dismissive, they act as if any question that you have for them is a bother, or that they are doing you some sort of favor by being there. Then the biggest problem of all- follow up. My labs had been reported for well over a week, I saw them and waited for some sort of communication from my doctors medical assistant, which never came. I had to reach out to my doctor’s medical assistant well over a week after my labs had already been reported to ask for said appointment, but I can’t see what she replied because the prelude app won’t open on my phone anymore. There was never a callback, and there has been no attempt at any further communication.

I cannot say this enough, do not come here. It’s clearly not a practice that puts patients first.

I had an amazing experience at IVFMD! Its been a while but Dr. Palmerola is one of the most kind and compassionate doctors I’ve ever met. she really cared about me not just as a patient but as a person. I genuinely trusted her knowledge and treatment plan for me. Even when she was running behind for my telemedicine appt, she’d be gracious about it. She’s truly one of a kind.

The nurses, I think Karen + Vern, were always so attentive, and made me feel comfortable during my ultrasounds. They would check in to make sure I had enough meds, and they’d eveb celebrate with me when I finally had a good response to the medication, and provide words of encouragement. I looked forward to seeing their familiar faces and they were almost like a second family to me for the time I was there. I could tell they love what they do. Besides Dr P the nurses were one of the highlights.

The lab tech, Joci, drew my blood many times, she was so gentle i never even felt a pinch, & im very scared of needles.

My coordinator Yosie was excellent. She was always so detailed + thorough. She’d call me if I ever had a question on the portal. I wouldn’t have been able to get through my cycle without her guidance, even once I completely ran OUT of medication and yosie saved the day. Even seeing her little ‘Yay!’s and words of support in the med instructions would make my day. I only wish I could’ve met her!!

front desk - Patricia is so sweet + positive always smiling, yunelky was very good too.

For my retrieval I think my nurse was Beatrice, I was terrified for the iv but she got it on the first try. she was so caring, and gave me pain medication to help me feel better. Shirley, Jacki, Annie and Stephanie who were really great too.

Cons: I encountered long wait times for my appointments. The clinic was always VERY busy. Often, the staff seemed overwhelmed and busy, if I always have to wait this long for my appts then the office has too many patients or not enough staff, or both. Fertility is a very vulnerable field, they should prioritize making their current patients feel appropriately taken care of. Several times I waited over 1 hour for the appt. I was taking time off of work to do this and they should be more mindful of peoples schedules. Or call ahead to say “Dr X is about 30 min behind”. to me it seems like they care more about getting more new patients (more money). I would’ve liked to have my IVF appointment in person or video; and to have an in person class on the injections. My coworker had a nurse go to her house for her injections but IVFMD didn’t offer that. They should for the amount I paid. I am EXTREMELY afraid of needles, it would’ve been helpful to have more guidance than just a video. When I was a new patient with Dr P I tried to talk to my pt coordinator and it was always very hard to reach her or I’d just get a portal message back. Also, the valet parking is too small, slow & gets backed up, and it’s not really valet if I have to park myself or retrieve my own car. I ended up just using the street parking if I could find a spot.

Overall I would recommend IVFMD and Dr Palmerola, but the office needs more staff, space & more focus on treating its current patients. The staff seems overwhelmed & understaffed. I would’ve rather waited on a 3 month waitlist for more access to communicate with staff, more personalized care, and less crazy wait times then have gone through my cycle the way it was. My doctor, yosie, nurses, lab techs, front desk, billing - they made it an overall positive experience. Their knowledge & kindness solely made the money I spent worth it. I was a patient for a few months and saw countless new faces. Who knows how the staff turnover is. I could tell the difference when I was talking to someone experienced and knew what they were talking about vs a new person. I get it everyone is new at one point, but I felt the most supported when the nurse or coordinator really was confident and knowledgeable about fertility and IVF. But I’m very thankful to Dr. palmerola for everything that she did for me!!!!
