About Instituto Bernabeu Albacete

Instituto Bernabeu is a leading reproductive medicine clinic located in Albacete, Spain, specializing in personalized assisted reproduction with a particular focus on low ovarian reserve, implantation failure and single‑parent or LGBTQ+ family building; the centre offers a full spectrum of services including IVF, ICSI, egg and sperm donation, double gamete donation, embryo adoption, oocyte cryopreservation, artificial insemination, ROPA, directed coitus, a pregnancy‑guarantee program, genetic and reproductive counseling, and an international artificial‑intelligence unit for treatment optimization, all supported by an in‑house gamete bank that eliminates external donor risks. Since opening in 2015, the clinic has reported some of the highest pregnancy rates in the region, a result attributed to its highly specialized team led by Dr. Lydia Luque, a gynecologist with extensive infertility expertise, assisted by two reproductive biologists, a midwife‑nurse, and multidisciplinary support staff. State‑of‑the‑art facilities include a dedicated IVF laboratory, andrology lab, operating theatre, recovery rooms and a 24/7 urgent‑care line, while patient‑centred services such as personalized fertility studies (both on‑site and online), financing options, continuous education through blogs, YouTube videos, a medical dictionary, and a social‑research foundation ensure comprehensive clinical and emotional support throughout the journey.

What to watch out for at Instituto Bernabeu Albacete?

  • warning Appointment Delays and Reception Gaps

Several patients experienced long waiting periods—up to an hour—before being seen, and instances where staff were unaware of scheduled appointments, indicating inconsistent front‑desk management.

  • warning Unclear Financial Transparency

Feedback highlights unexpected additional fees, lack of upfront budget explanations, and perceptions of overcharging for tests, ultrasounds, and medication, leading to feelings of being misled.

  • warning Inconsistent Staff Professionalism

Some nurses were reported to lack basic skills such as blood draws and to show limited empathy, contrasting with the otherwise high praise for other team members.

  • warning Limited Support for Complex Cases

Patients with difficult histories noted insufficient pre‑treatment preparation, minimal follow‑up after failed cycles, and a lack of tailored strategies for high‑risk or repeat‑failure scenarios.

Review of IVF clinic. Experienced excellent emotional support and healing support from Dr. Lidia. Positive IVF experience with staff support.

Dear Dr. Lidia, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for seeing us today. This gesture means so much more than you can imagine. These past few months have been incredibly difficult, but knowing we have people like you—who not only heal but also offer support—gives us the strength to keep going. Thank you for taking care of Lavinia, for being there even after her treatment, and for reminding us that behind every patient there is a family, a story, and so much hope. With gratitude, Jorge, Lavinia, and our little one on the way 🤍

I went there a couple of years ago, and my only feeling was that they were playing on people's desperation. They kept ordering test after test, which had an extra cost, and when the process started… Dr. Lidia may be a gynecologist, but I know more about reproduction than she does. It was awful. It made me feel very insecure, but I was even more foolish to start a treatment that ended badly. They performed the transfer in the same consultation room where they explain the process—it was ridiculous. If you want to become parents, don't go to this clinic. The doctor in charge is not recommended for these cases.
