Where do I begin praising this team. From the day I visited illume to see Dr Ressler, my experience has been nothing but amazing. The entire staff is so helpful and informative at every stage. I initially decided to see Dr ressler to discuss fertility treatments which over the course transitioned into a natural pregnancy journey for me. I have been greeted with a smile, scheduled appts according to my availabilities and constantly kept informed about anything that I had questions on. I will say I wish I could be seen at this clinic for longer than 8-9 weeks into my pregnancy journey but ofcourse as a protocol they do transition you to your own OB at 10 weeks. Once again all the staff, Chelsea, Briggette, Thelma, Dr ressler and everyone else that has assisted me in one way or another, I just want to say thank you for everything!

I recently visited Illume in Stamford for my first fertility consultation. Although we arrived about five minutes late to an 8:30A)(I’ve attached a photo of my arrival time so it’s clear I’m not exaggerating)I was surprised when the staff immediately asked why we were “so late” and told us the appointment would need to be rushed because they had another patient at 9:30 AM. It caught me off guard — especially as a first-time patient — and made the start of the visit feel a bit rushed and uncomfortable. I’m not upset that my insurance doesn’t participate with them; that part was clear. What bothered me more was the lack of communication around testing. I provided a urine sample thinking it was for a routine pregnancy test, but later saw that it was used for gonorrhea and chlamydia testing. No one mentioned this, no one asked for consent, and no one told me that fasting was required for any labs. As someone new to the fertility process, I would have appreciated clear explanations before any tests were done. The office and staff seem friendly and very organized, but overall the experience felt a bit like a factory...efficient, but not very personal or transparent. For something as sensitive as fertility care, I expected clearer communication and a more supportive approach.
