What to watch out for at Human Fertility Institute – INSER?

  • warning Administrative Unprofessionalism

Administrative personnel have been described as misleading and unprofessional, with instances of broken scheduling promises and poor communication about appointment times. Patients experience frustration when staff fail to honor agreed timetables.

  • warning High Service Costs

Charges for basic procedures such as spermograms and consultation appointments are reported as excessively high, with fees reaching several hundred thousand COP. The cost structure contributes to a perception that the clinic prioritizes revenue over patient care.

  • warning Facility Privacy Issues

Clinic spaces lack adequate soundproofing and visual privacy; conversations can be overheard and vents allow visibility into neighboring rooms. Seating is limited to basic benches, reducing comfort during waiting periods.

  • warning Appointment Cancellations

Patients have encountered multiple last‑minute appointment cancellations, sometimes with only an hour’s notice, leading to travel disruptions and additional financial burden. Rescheduling often involves long waiting periods.

  • warning Perceived Profit‑Driven Focus

Feedback indicates a strong emphasis on credit‑card transactions and financial gain, with some staff appearing more concerned with billing than patient well‑being. This perception undermines confidence in the clinic’s holistic care approach.

Their customer service staff is only trained to force you to pay a consultation fee of $110 usd to get any information or pricing for treatments. We were planning to fly there to do an expensive treatment and it was impossible to get any information before making a decision. In the end, we agreed to pay the consulation fee just to get a quotation for our treatment (which is crazy), but they told us that after they send the pricing, it may change unless we pay a downpayment. I don't understand, are we buying a house or are we trying to get some simple info about treatment before we choose to fly to Colombia for this? They even market on their website that they have special programs for people not living in Colombia... where is this info?? We lost total trust because fertility treatments are already so stressful and they made us more stressed before even starting. I don’t know how they are claiming they are the best when they clearly don't know how to treat potential clients. You are losing so many opportunites just to make a quick $100 from random consultations. You clearly don't care about anything else.
