HEARTLAND FERTILITY CLINIC – Reviews and Prices

Writing this review as Heartland sent me a message asking to review them. I wish I could give them a more favourable review. There are a lot of good well meaning people working there. We had a wonderful experince with our surgeon as well as the nurses and support staff. However, we have had some negative experiences. Our IVF protocol was inappropriate for our situation and failed. Our egg retrieval doctor was insensitive and unkind. The doctor in charge of our protocol offered little in terms of what could be done to improve the IVF protocol. All this lead us to seek 2nd and 3rd opinions with clinics in other provinces. Those opinions confirmed that the egg quality was fried given the protocol Heartland had me on and our cycle would never have been successful. We have since had a successful cycle on a much different protocol at a different clinic. Our feeling is that Heartland can be good for the more average situation, but for more complicated situations like ours they are not on top of the latest protocols and drugs.

I would also like to mention that their system for communicating with patients needs improvement. They tend to communicate through Medeo and then promptly close the conversation, slowing down the process. Our new clinic is always prompt with communication and our doctor even gave us her email! Having a direct line to her to ask questions has been huge.

We are still in midst of dealing with this clinic. ALL of the staff: Doctors, nurses, reception, are amazing. Everytime we walk in to Heartland we feel welcomed, taken care of, and valued. I really feel the staff cares. We have a long road a head of us, and I know I’ll be sad when it’s over ONLY because I wont have visits there anymore. To be Honest, I have been seriously thinking of going into nursing because of how awesome they’ve made me feel. I’m rambling, but heartland Fertility clinic is the BEST.

We are so thankful to Heartland Fertility for their great work. Since day one, we felt their willingness to help us to achieve our goal to have our bundle of joy. We never thought that in just 3 months of treatment we will get our first big fat positive. Every time we went to the clinic we can feel that they really care and they will do their best to help us to get pregnant. And we did it!!!! Thank you so much Heartland!

The majority of staff were lovely to interact with; however, my dissatisfaction with heartland has more to do with the length of time waiting for tests and appointments. It took 5 months from my initial consultation to get an hsg and complete my fertility workup which is significantly longer than other provinces. Heartland is the only fertility treatment option in winnipeg so I feel there us no urgency or competition to drive change. Additionally, having virtual communication sent to me was convenient, but then staff/ nurses would close the communication chat, so additional questions couldn’t be messaged but you woild have to call and it woild often take days to respond.

We can’t say enough positive things about our experience with heartland. Obviously infertility is not something we would have chosen for ourselves, but we were so grateful for our care team. They were thorough, we felt like they tailored our treatments to our situation specifically and had so much patience with all of our questions. We truly felt that they cared about our outcome!

Service so far has been Great. Very Helpful Staff. Lauren, Crystal, Dr. Waraich and Dr. Applebee are the people I had a chance to interact with.

From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed, supported, and well-informed. The medical team explained every step of the process clearly, making me feel confident and comfortable in their capable hands.
