The care we received by Dr Sunil Pillay and the team at Fertility Associates Auckland has been exceptional. From the very first time we met with Dr Sunil Pillay we were put so at ease by him, he is so friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and approachable and we felt so well cared for by him. Dr Sunil quickly identified the severity of my endometriosis (Grade 4) and also diagnosed my adenomyosis. He completed a complex surgery for the excision of my endometriosis and his care pre and post op was above and beyond what I expected. I felt so safe and supported by him, and had an amazing recovery post op. He also guided us through our IVF journey, always keeping us well informed and feeling so supported through our decision making. We never felt like “just another number”, we always felt like Dr Sunil and his team were genuinely invested in our journey and wanted the best for us. The reception/administration staff, nurses, ultrasound staff and embryologists we met along our journey were all so friendly, warm and genuine in their care and interactions with us also.
We truly feel Dr Sunil’s diligent care and expertise in supporting us through surgery, down regulation and IVF played a massive role in us having success with our first embryo transfer and we could not be more grateful. Thank you so much to Dr Sunil Pillay and the Fertility Associates Auckland team.
The journey started off really well. The communication and care was top notch. Dr. Olivia Stuart advised us not to do the guaranteed money-back package as my wife was young 30 and there wouldn’t be an issue conceiving, Two failed transfers, $30k+ of private funding and we feel like this is just a big money scam.
Very disappointed , many mistakes along this journey with FA, complete lack of professionalism and patient care even though we were private .
I shall be taking the appropriate legal steps and hold FA accountable for medical negligence and incompetency!
We were feeling defeated after some time had passed with no success for second baby. We chose to see Sunil Pillay as an attempt to see if we could get any traction. From the beginning with Sunil we felt a sense of ease and support never experienced. He kept us updated and well informed. He is invested in the journey with you. We are now expecting our second baby mid this year. I still keep Sunil updated with the progress even though we are no longer under his care, a celebration very much possible because of him. Best of luck to all still on the journey.
I started off with public funding waiting list when I was 37 years & waited for about 18months to get my chance on getting IVF. By the time I was 38 when I had first IVF. My doctor was Olivia Stuart. First round of IVF had 6x mature eggs collected but only 3x fertilized & 1x made it to day 5. It was transferred & at 7 weeks had a miscarriage. Then I waited another 3x month to get my second cycle. Same protocol was used except I was put on Androderm patches. My Thyroid was around 4.00 but I was not put on the medication to bring it down. Then my second cycle I had 5x eggs collected & 3x made to day 5 but only 2x was good to be frozen. 1x being 4AB & 1x being 4BC. Sadly first one resulted in another miscarriage at 8 weeks. We send the sample for testing & found it had 2x chromosomes missing then I was put on long down regulation protocol plan due to the embryo grade being low but it didn’t stick. The Govt paid Fertility clinic soo much money for the 2x cycle but nothing came out of it. I think given my age & that my partners sperm count was low more could have been done to get better results at fertilization stage & more embryos. I have lost all hope to go through IVF again. I’m 40 now & my chances are very minimum. I don’t have money or energy to waste. I wish the govt had instead given me that money to use for treatment abroad.
Absolutely incredible support from every single member of the team. Everyone is so professional and empathetic and support you with all the information necessary.
Our precious baby boy is now 1 year old. Was very happy with the expert support we recieved during our IVF treatment. Blessed to have conceived first round. Excellent team, thank you for your professionalism and dedication. It literally changes lives.❤️🌿
Do not go here if you are a man seeking TRT!! Or want to be treated like an adult. I saw Dr Maritza Farrant and I was treated with suspicion, even though I had done my research and had data to back up my conclusion – that I met the criteria for primary Hypogonadism. Because I went to the gym regularly I was asked leading questions as if I was a gym bro looking to get on steroids. I also wasn’t trusted when I said I didn’t want any more children. And yes, I assured her I had talked to my partner about it! IMO, they seem to have an extreme bias towards being pro-fertility and not wanting to make decisions that will impact someone’s fertility even though the patient has good reasoning. Ie quality of life vs (maybe) not being able to have more children. This appointment cost me $533 and I emailed asking if I could go for a blood test before the appointment and was told not to but then all they did was order blood tests and ask for a follow-up. I didn’t go back, I found somewhere that would treat me fairly and that’s only $175 per appointment – I am now on fully funded TRT. Because of the delay that FAA caused, my symptoms did get worse, however, so I lived through 6+ months of low mood etc because of these guys! Go somewhere else.
