The warmest recommendations for IVF-SYD At IVF Syd, my girlfriend and I experienced staff who were extremely competent, calm, appreciative, informative and welcoming. We felt well received and in safe hands throughout. Our child number 2 was successful in the second attempt with IVF after experiencing 3 miscarriages, each of a very different nature, with the last one ending in an operation. The choice then became fertility treatment and with IVF Syd due to their good reviews and good reputation, which we had by word of mouth from our circle of friends, which we can fully support. IVF-SYD gets our warmest recommendation. Many greetings to Daniel and Anita, and the proud big brother Tobias, who is also completely in love with little sister who came into the world on 5 August 2024. She would not have come to fruition if we had not received help from you at IVF-SYD. 1000 thanks.

"My Best Experience: Professional, Responsive, and Empowering Care"

The best experience. Very professional and clear in their recommendations, but still responsive to our wishes in relation to treatment. Felt it was me who decided, although we mostly followed their recommendations. Far better experience than in the public sector. The biggest praises from here

The clinic also offers intrauterine insemination (IUI), egg freezing (social freezing), embryo freezing with vitrification, and blastocyst culture. Donor programs cover both egg donation and sperm donation, with anonymous, non‑anonymous and known donor options. All procedures are coordinated by a multidisciplinary team to tailor the optimal plan for each patient.
What is the history and background of IVF-SYD? expand_more
IVF‑SYD opened its doors in 2006 as a private fertility clinic located on a historic vineyard near Fredericia. Founded and owned by Dr. Dorthe Andresen, Dr. Marianne Rohde, and Dr. Steen B. Laursen, the clinic has grown to a multidisciplinary team of physicians, embryologists, nurses and coordinators. By December 2023 more than 5 000 children have been born through its programs, averaging over one birth per day. IVF‑SYD’s results rank among the top in Denmark and compare favourably with leading international centres. The clinic is audited by the Danish Patient Safety Authority, underscoring its commitment to high standards of patient safety and clinical excellence.
Does IVF-SYD offer egg donation for IVF treatment? expand_more
Yes, IVF‑SYD provides a comprehensive egg‑donation program. Patients can choose from anonymous donors stocked at the clinic, non‑anonymous (open) donors recruited through the Donor Network, or known donors. All donors undergo thorough medical, psychological and genetic screening, including IQ testing and a clean criminal record, to ensure the highest quality gametes. The clinic coordinates the matching process, and donor eggs are used in standard IVF cycles with the same laboratory protocols as autologous cycles. Success rates with donor eggs are comparable to those of fresh IVF cycles, contributing to the clinic’s overall high pregnancy outcomes.
What are the IVF success rates at IVF-SYD? expand_more
IVF-SYD reports age‑stratified pregnancy rates per IVF/ICSI cycle. For women aged 35 years or younger, 243 cycles resulted in 67 clinical pregnancies, giving a 27.6 % success rate per cycle and a cumulative live‑birth rate of 51 %. Women aged 36‑39 achieved a 24.8 % pregnancy rate (29 pregnancies from 117 cycles). For the 40‑42 age group the rate falls to 15.4 % (14 pregnancies from 91 cycles), and for patients 43 years and older the rate is 4.5 % (2 pregnancies from 44 cycles). When frozen‑blastocyst transfers are included, success rates improve markedly, reaching 47.5 % for women ≤35 years and around 48 % for ages 36‑39. These figures are audited annually by the Danish Patient Safety Authority and align with national benchmarks.
Does IVF-SYD provide fertility treatment for same-sex couples? expand_more
IVF‑SYD is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusivity and offers fertility services for same‑sex couples. Lesbian couples can access the ROPA (Reception of Oocytes from Partner) protocol, where one partner donates eggs and the other carries the pregnancy. The clinic also provides donor‑egg and donor‑sperm options for both female and male same‑sex couples, with anonymous, non‑anonymous or known donor choices. All procedures are performed by the same experienced reproductive team, and the clinic’s policies ensure legal and emotional support throughout the treatment journey.
Who are the fertility doctors and specialists at IVF-SYD? expand_more
IVF-SYD is led by a team of experienced reproductive specialists. The clinic owners are Dr. Dorthe Andresen and Dr. Marianne Rohde, both board‑certified specialists in obstetrics and gynecology with extensive fertility expertise. Dr. Steen B. Laursen serves as director and is a Ph.D. cell biologist and clinical embryologist. The medical staff also includes Dr. Birgit Alsbjerg, a consultant specialist in gynecology and obstetrics, and a group of senior embryologists such as Peter Givskov, an ESHRE‑certified clinical embryologist. Supporting the physicians are dedicated fertility nurses, patient coordinators, and bioanalysts who together ensure comprehensive care throughout the treatment journey.
What IVF laboratory technology does IVF-SYD use? expand_more
The IVF‑SYD laboratory employs state‑of‑the‑art techniques to maximise embryo viability. Since 2006 the clinic has used vitrification, a rapid‑freezing method that yields over 95 % survival of thawed blastocysts. Embryos are cultured to the blastocyst stage (day 5‑6) before freezing, and the lab utilizes ICSI microinjection for precise sperm delivery. The embryology team includes ESHRE‑certified specialists and employs rigorous quality‑control protocols audited by the Danish Patient Safety Authority. While specific equipment brands are not listed, the laboratory’s focus on vitrification, blastocyst culture, and advanced micromanipulation ensures high pregnancy and live‑birth outcomes.
Does IVF-SYD treat single women seeking fertility treatment? expand_more
IVF‑SYD explicitly welcomes single women who wish to become mothers. A dedicated section for solo patients outlines a supportive, no‑referral pathway, allowing single women to schedule an initial consultation, undergo full fertility assessment and access the full range of treatments—including IVF, ICSI, egg freezing and donor‑egg programs. The clinic’s team tailors each plan to the individual’s medical profile and personal goals, ensuring that solo patients receive the same high‑quality care and success rates as couples.
