5 stars for ferticentro!! After 5 long years of disappointments at clinics in the Netherlands and Germany, we ended up at Ferticentro. Thanks to Ferticentro, I am now 25 weeks pregnant after the first embryo transfer and I feel so happy. Ferticentro employs skilled doctors, nurses and service-oriented staff. Everyone is incredibly friendly, sympathetic and no question is too much. There are many opportunities for research, which also gave us the reassurance that we did everything we could in our last fertility treatment. Ferticentro thank you very much for this wonderful turn in our lives, a beautiful baby girl on the way. With special thanks to Dr. Nisa Felix, Maria Tinoco and Sofia Rodrigues.

At first it was uncommon to contact a center abroad. We were hoping to find a professional center which could help us with a donor. After the intake and the good reviews we took the shot. In December we visited the Ferticentro in Coimbra. The threadment just took a couple of hours. It was worth the visit, money and emotions Now my wife has been pregnant for about 14 weeks and everything looks perfect. We are so thankful for the help of Ferticentro. I would really would advice this center for there knowledge and professional help.

It’s been a long journey in every sense of the word because we come from Reunion Island… and we had to make the trip 4 times for our last embryo to turn into a beautiful little boy! Very bad experience for us with Ferticentro, which we had heard a lot of good things about!
We discovered this clinic on an LGBTQIA+ network and it met all our criteria: non-anonymous donor, not necessarily stimulation by injections, not too expensive destination to get there…
The first contacts were very good, even if the response times were sometimes a little long (this is what the comments often criticized and as it had nothing to do with the medical part, we were ready to put up with it). Everyone was very nice, there was an interpreter for the video appointments with the doctor, in short on that side, no problem.
I took the exams. For context, I was 29 years old, no particular problems apart from very mild PCOS and all my results were perfect. The first stimulation attempt was a pill protocol. My body did not react, making insemination on this cycle impossible. We therefore thought (naively) that they were going to change the protocol for the next one (even if it meant doing stimulation by injections), but no: they wanted to put us directly into IVF. We tried to argue for another protocol but they argued that with my PCOS, it wouldn’t work and that IVF was absolutely necessary so as not to waste time. The icing on the cake: they didn’t refund us anything (we had paid for the stimulation + the procedure which was canceled) and they also didn’t transfer the money towards a potential IVF with them. We therefore found ourselves with an insemination not carried out but paid in full and IVF to be paid in full.
After much thought, we ended up resigning ourselves to IVF in France, due to the cost. So we notified the clinic and there, strangely, suddenly we could transfer part of what we had paid to IVF… As it remained financially ambitious, we turned to a PMA center to launch the file in France, and then, a twist! The gynecologist looks at us with huge eyes. For her, in view of my file, it is unthinkable and incomprehensible to go to IVF after a single failure of stimulation (by pills, in addition, a technique which is not the most common). So having no more confidence in Ferticentro, we told them we were leaving and changed clinics to try Spain. In the end, after much struggle, we still got the money back for the insemination (minus some administrative costs).
We turned towards Barcelona. The clinic immediately offered us an IAD protocol with injection stimulation. The doctor didn’t even have to fumble to find the right dosage. From the 1st cycle, we were able to do a test… Result? A beautiful little girl born on June 16.
To summarize, we had the impression that Ferticentro was trying to get as many people as possible into IVF, purely for financial purposes and to the detriment of the patients, since IVF is a much heavier protocol for the body. What shocks us is the discrepancy between the Portuguese opinions on the one hand, and the French and Spanish on the other. If there had been a minimum of concordance, we would have given them the benefit of the doubt, but when we are told IVF on the one hand, and on the other we have a pregnancy from the first insertion, there is a problem. We therefore do not recommend this clinic at all.
