A very good experience. I'm not giving it 5 stars because I had a rather abrupt gynecologist once, and I left the appointment feeling quite upset. But otherwise, I highly recommend it, as the overall experience has been very positive.

We couldn't be more disappointed with this clinic. We had been trying to have a baby for four years without success and went to Fecunmed because it was nearby and we wanted to try to fulfill our dream. The service was very good, all smiles, encouragement, and kind words, but that's where it ended. We tried a first IUI, which didn't work, but they told us not to worry because it's very common not to get pregnant on the first try. We had a second IUI, which also didn't work. Then, curiously, Dr. Saura detected in an ultrasound that my wife had a T-shaped uterus and that surgery was necessary because otherwise it would be quite difficult for the embryo to implant correctly. We found it very strange that they only noticed this at that point, after two previous IUIs with their respective ultrasounds. Even so, she had the surgery, after paying for it herself, at a clinic in Mataró recommended by Fecunmed, where, coincidentally, the director of Fecunmed, Dr. Saura, also works. After recovering from the surgery, we tried a third IUI, and when that didn't work either, they advised us to have a FISH (genetic testing) done on both of our sperm to see if there were any incorrect scores that could cause problems or incompatibility. We paid for it, and the results came back correct. So, they encouraged us to try a fourth IUI, continuing to give us false hope that it was very common to have success so soon, but unfortunately, it failed again. Remember that each IUI costs 800 euros plus the medication, which costs around 250 euros, so you can imagine how much money we had spent up to that point. After these four IUIs, and seeing that there was no success, they told us it was time to "bring out the big guns" and try IVF. We were desperate, practically penniless, but we wanted to fulfill our dream, and after taking out a loan, we agreed to start IVF. My wife started taking ovarian stimulation medication, but it was observed that she hadn't responded well to it, as she had only produced 5 eggs. Therefore, they recommended stopping the IVF and, to avoid wasting the money on the medication, converting it to IUI—her fifth attempt. This also failed, but an ultrasound showed that she had produced a whopping 36 eggs. The entire medical team met and decided not to wait the usual month before restarting IVF and to have her resume the medication to stimulate all those eggs. One night, my wife began experiencing terrible pain in her ovaries, and we rushed to Mataró Hospital, where they concluded that she had ovarian torsion caused by hyperstimulation from the IVF medication. They ordered her to have complete and total bed rest for a week. A week later, we returned to Fecunmed, where Dr. Saura saw us, and we explained the situation. I decided to have an ultrasound, and the worst possible news came: my wife had an ectopic pregnancy and needed emergency surgery. Scared and desperate, we waited until the next day when she was admitted to the Hospital Clínic in Barcelona, where she underwent surgery. They had to remove her right fallopian tube because the embryo had grown so large that it had already ruptured the tube to the point of rupture. The surgeon who operated on her told me it was a close call, as a ruptured fallopian tube carries a high risk of maternal death due to massive internal bleeding, and by the time they could have stopped it, it might have been too late. Therefore, my question is, how could Fecunmed have failed to detect this ectopic pregnancy before starting the new ovarian stimulation treatment, which was precisely the one causing the adverse effect? Why didn't they ensure my wife was completely clear of the ectopic pregnancy, either with a pregnancy test or an ultrasound, before beginning the new treatment? I just wanted to thank the entire team of doctors, nurses, and everyone in general. They treated us so well, guiding us with great care at every stage and process. Fortunately, we were successful with our second IVF attempt. We're now 14 weeks pregnant. A huge blessing. Every experience is unique, and ours has been the best. Thank you so much for all the support you've given us. Hugs to the entire medical team.
