I was scheduled with Dr. Katie Doody. I was having a procedure within the first week of the new year and I was changing insurances. I called multiple times to try to see if they would accept my insurance (it was an out of state policy) and to get a price estimate for the testing procedures. I was transferred here and there and no one seemed to know what anyone else was doing. It was a mess. After that, my testing came back and I did an appointment for next steps in my treatment plan. When I brought up concerns, they were dismissed as though they didn’t matter. I asked questions about why we couldn’t use a medication that we knew worked for me in the past and I was told “it’s off label so I don’t like it”. No real reason. It made me feel like there was a specific playbook that they use and they refuse to deviate even if it’s what’s best for the patient. I also needed a genetic screening. I called the company they use and they didn’t accept my insurance but another company did. I asked for an order to go to the company that used my insurance and I was told they have a contract with their company and cannot send an order anywhere else. It definitely seemed like the patient’s best interest was not in mind. Since then, I have gone to a different clinic that has well exceeded this experience. They are willing to do what works for me as the individual and aren’t trying to push me to the more expensive options right away. Also, the treatment plan (IUI) that CARE had wanted me to proceed with was double the price than what my new clinic charges. Overall, I did not feel like my care was adequate or individualized in any way.

I’d give Dr.Thomas 5 starts for her care but overall this place lost my trust. I’m not confident in them at all. It took weeks to get an initial appointment. When I went in for the first time I waited over an hour to see the doctor. The whole time ladies behind the front desk were talking about patients. I got placed in a meeting room before my procedure. Fast forward to trying to get info for my second frozen embryo transfer….first at this clinic. I can not get ahold of the billing department. I have left multiple voicemails. Every time I call the front desk transfers me. I was able to talk to an admin for the embryo lab. She was super nice. She reassured me she would take care of things and find someone from billing for me to talk to. I guess the lady was out to lunch. No suprise I didn’t get a call back. As someone who has done IVF before they have lost my confidence. Dr Thomas is amazing but her staff is the reason why I will not be doing a second round of IVF here. So thankful for my miricle baby. I will not risk loosing my other embryos with their lack of care.
