Cambridge IVF

Throughout our treatment the team were informative, helpful, caring and gave great reassurance. We asked many, many questions throughout the medication, transfers and many phone calls. All were answered with transparency covering all bases of the good and possibly bad outcomes. Our little boy was born in November, IVF Cambridge have given us everything we ever dreamed of.

I was referred to Cambridge IVF by the NHS for fertility testing, and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing and emotionally distressing. From the very first appointment, I felt like I wasn’t listened to. I clearly explained that my partner and I have been trying to have a baby for four years, yet the clinic letter I later received stated two years. When you’ve been trying for this long, having an IVF clinic dismiss or change your timeline hurts far more than they realise. During the appointment, I was told I would likely need IVF straight away. I asked about NHS support and was told I would only qualify if my AMH levels came back low. We also discussed IVF options, and I mentioned that due to multiple miscarriages, I would want to consider PGT. I left believing there was a clear plan depending on my results. When my AMH levels came back low, I genuinely thought this meant I would finally receive the support I needed. Instead, I was abruptly told that my levels were too low and that I would be discharged, with the only option being to continue privately with them. The tone changed completely, PGT, which we had discussed seriously, was suddenly described as unnecessary and a “waste of time,” but the explanation didn’t make sense. It later became clear that the clinic simply doesn’t offer PGT, which makes me feel that I was misled in the first appointment just to steer me toward their own services. I was also told I would need 6 to 10 cycles of egg collection, which no other clinic I’ve spoken with has ever suggested so casually or confidently. After speaking with multiple other specialists, I realised how unreasonable and unrealistic this claim was. It seemed more like a sales tactic than medical advice. Overall, I left feeling dismissed, unsupported, and taken advantage of at a very vulnerable time. It felt as though I was discharged from the NHS pathway quickly so I could be pushed into private treatment with them instead. After four years of trying and multiple losses, this experience was deeply upsetting and felt completely devoid of empathy. I would strongly encourage anyone attending Cambridge IVF to seek second opinions and ensure they are being listened to and supported properly. Editing this review due to the response from the clinic, to be very clear, this was at the Cambridge IVF clinic and not at A hospital. Don’t try and push the blame to them. Thank you

Do not use this clinic. They fraudulent apply for NHS funding. We have had an active complaint since august and no closer to resolution. They collected our embryos in July and have are no closer to resolution. I wouldn’t recommend using this clinic if they were last place in the country. Save yourself the trouble. They have switched off HFEA reviews as people were speaking out.

Do not buy a package as once the transaction is done, they won't care anymore. Unfortunately, we didn't know and bought the 3 cycles package in advance. We felt neglected and talked down in a condescending manner. We also had wrong information given by one of the Doctors who luckily left. The majority of the staff was cold and I felt like most of the time I was an annoyance to them with my questions. We had a total of 5 attempts and we ended up with nothing. The only Doctor who was nice with us was the Embriologist.

I think when it comes to choosing a clinic you have to choose what is right for you. We have unfortunately changed clinic twice before finding Cambridge IVF. I am currently undergoing treatment with Cambs IVF and cannot fault their kindness, support and communication throughout the whole process which can’t be said for the other local clinic we used. Not once have I ever felt like just a number or a “statistic” as others have mentioned. My protocol was tailored to my needs and explained every step of the way. I’ve had scans every other day and adjustments if needed. Egg collection was a very scary time for me personally and I was made to feel loved and cared for the whole time. I wish partners were allowed in but then again he wasn’t allowed at the other local clinic either. One thing I will say which has been invaluable to us was the support from the embryology department. We had a call with them before starting the round explaining the whole process and to ask any questions we had, which has never happened before and helped us understand what was right for us. Please don’t base your decision on Google reviews. Go and meet the team and see for yourself. Best of luck for your future ❤️
