Myself and my partner have been trying for a baby for over five years. We went down the IVF route, after two failed attempts due to a low egg count I was reluctant to keep trying. We went to the fertility show in the RDS in Dublin in February and got talking to Sofia Meleti and Dr Harry Karpouzis. We had a chat with them and they were very helpful. I thought long and hard about whether to go down the egg donor route and did plenty of research. We decided to head to Athens in April and proceed with the consultation, tests and sperm collection. In regards to medication, I had no side effects and I was advised to take rodi nk plus which is unheard of here but brilliant stuff. In regards to communication, when it came to prescriptions, the clinic were very helpful and my pharmacist was very impressed with how helpful they were and said he had dealt with clinics abroad and they're usually not very helpful. It took a few months to find a suitable donor and then it was all so quick, no fuss. On embryo transfer day I was so nervous but Sofia came to my side and reassured me everything would be fine. Harry carried out the procedure and told me it was very successful and the quality of the embryos (because I got two transferred) was very good. Almost seven weeks on and had my first scan and there's two heartbeats and I couldn't be happier. Will always be so grateful and from start to finish both Sofia and Harry were there to help. We had a wonderful experience with Pelargos, it did work out for us from the first time ( both eggs extraction and transfer), I am now 12 weeks pregnant and past the first scan. And this is despite my low AMH and my age (I am 40). Elisavet is very kind, helpful and professional. Dr Karpouzis makes wonders. Can definitely recommend it further.

The care we received felt impersonal and process-driven, with little emotional awareness during a very vulnerable time. Follow-up and support after treatment were minimal. doc karpouzis was quite absent on the day of embryo transfer, wife found his lack of communication concerning. After the cycle failed, my wife was advised to consider an egg donor, communicated in a way that lacked sensitivity to the psychological impact. We later pursued treatment at a different clinic and now have a healthy daughter without the need of a donor. The consistently glowing reviews were hard to align with what we experienced. I delayed writing this, but the emotional toll of such an approach should not be brushed aside.
