I have been considering treatment here as the waitlist at GRI was too long. The appointments have been fine and staff professional.

However, progressing to the next stage has been a very slow and gated process. You need to chase them to release forms on their buggy and complex platform to complete, and I’m currently trying to book my next appointment.

It’s Saturday morning, the clinic is open, and I’ve been on hold for over two hours. Considering going elsewhere as there just seem to be so many delays and not a lot of transparency. I may update this review depending on how this progresses, currently extremely frustrated.

I will preface my review by saying that I underwent two full rounds of extraction and icsi, and was successful on the second round. it resulted in a live birth in 2022.

Of course I am grateful to GCRM, but I would not recommend them. Ever. I only underwent the second round because I felt I had no other option.

1. I Fail to see why basic scans could not be carried out at satelllite clinics: my preganancy blood test and 7 week ultrasound were both carried out there. During treatment I had to schlep over 50 miles to their Glasgow clining for and ultrsound probe several times a week.

2. Their communication post extration is dire: those five days are frought and painful: the no news is good news/radio silence approach is bordering on abusive. Whats more, you dont share your comms policy. why dont you tell your patients about your comms policy ??

3. No attempt is made to prepare for pregnancy failure. considering that, statistically, most implantations result in failure – there was no discussion surrounding what happens next other than ‘you get a free counselling session’

Even worse, there was no discussion surrounding what a failed pregnancy feels like physically, or how it may present. I was alone and scared. Let that sink in. I understand that the company may not want to stress patients out but GCRM do have a duty of care. In my case, after a negative pregnancy blood test i experienced extruciating abdominal pain: i phoned the clinic thinking something had gi#one very wrong and was told that my physiological symptoms were very normal – due to hormone therapy my ovaries were engorged and now rapidly shrinking back down to normal size. I had not been told. I had not been trusted with knowledge of my own body. That is what is unacceptable.

To paint a picture: 12 hours after a negative pregnancy test (following hormone treatment and icsi) I was in the fetal position screaming in pain into a pillow as my husband gazed on scared and helpless. I was scared, grief-stricken and in the worst pain I had ever experienced. When I phoned the clinic the voice on the other end was bored and dismissive, and said that what I was experiecing was normal – if it was normal, WHY HAD I NOT BEEN PREPARED??

Positive thinking be damned. I was not informed. Saying on the phone “we are here if youre worried” is not enough. Its a cop out at best. You have to do better by your patients GCRM. You claim to hold our hands, but refuse to open our eyes.

For perspective: I had a traumatic labour. However I left the hospital singing the praises of the staff who I came into contact with there. i felt empowered, informed, and cared for. I felt safe, even as I was being rushed to emergency surgery.

For the entirety of my 2 year treatment journey with GCRM, I felt none of these things.

Oh yes, following my pregnancy failure, the consulting doctor set up a debrief appointment where treated my husband and I with a complete lack of sympathy. it felt like his primary goal was to get us to commit to further treatment. If I didnt know any better, Id venture that he was on comission

Phewwwww!!!! My rollercoaster ride with them. First time lost twins in IVF as it was not successful as there was not enough use of luteal support medicines, I thought i was an experiment for them literally But, second time they gave me medicines and two days ago I became mum of a little boy. Xxx
My budget was out because of double trouble. But all is well that ends well .
I would visit them again in future as now somehow I myself is aware of many things. Good wishes for them👍🏻 and thank you very much!

The staff were very polite and welcoming and that made it so much easier for me to communicate with them. It was lovely and clean here and I like that my results were posted straight to my portal and I didn’t have to chase them up. This is my second time with GCRM I would definitely recommend them.

From the get go, all staff were very friendly and welcoming. They explained treatments in language that I understood and we’re very empathetic towards me and my journey. Luckily I only ended up needing one round of iui before I fell pregnant with my little boy. They helped me complete my family and I am forever grateful!

They are apathetic and profit-driven. As a health care professional myself, I believe the care for the patient should be above a bit of extra gain. A mentality that they lack.

We had an incredible experience with GCRM, Glasgow. We had a failed round of iui and the care and compassion that was shown did not go unnoticed. We were very anxious about starting IVF and the nurses were very understanding, giving us time to speak through our anxieties and holding our hands if we were emotional.
We were spoke through the full process in detail and it was never any hassle to answer any questions we had. We were never in the dark about next steps or current position in terms of scans etc.
We have been blessed with our beautiful daughter 5 weeks ago all thanks to GCRM. We will definitely be returning when it comes time to try for another 💕

Couldn’t recommend GCRM more. Can’t believe we only have one private clinic in Scotland! (Look into Access Fertility for funding options!) The process was always super clear and you always get an answer on the phone, or a response to portal messages for any query, no matter how small. Staff at clinic are always warm, friendly and interested. We were considering going to Brňo but the price was competitive enough to thankfully enable us to use GCRM, much closer to home.

“After a Nightmare Experience at GCRM, I Urge You to Avoid Them!”

I’ve had the most stressful experience with GCRM.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF YOU CAN. Please, take my advice, don’t do what I did, and read through all the one-star reviews on here. They’re basically all saying the same thing.

I’m desperately looking for other clinics now. Their communication is terrible, I needed to be chasing them up every single day, and still they’re incredibly passive. They always give you another little surprise step you need to make, and they take ages to send you what you need to sign.

Basically, no matter how hard you try to move swiftly through this process, they make it longer and more arduous.

Dealing with this is already emotionally and economically taxing, and their lack of cooperation and complete disregard for your experience as a patient makes it 1000 times more so.

I’VE LOST SO MUCH TIME, UNNECESSARILY. As if we hadn’t been waiting and waiting and waiting and saving up already to be here. Total lack of empathy from their part.

I live in Edinburgh so unfortunately we don’t have another private clinic nearby, they were our nearest option. But now we’re even considering traveling somewhere else to go to another clinic, anything but them.

If you can consider ANY other option, I’d really recommend you have GCRM as your last resource.

They’re completely unempathetic, very willing to take your money, knowing you’re vulnerable and stressed, but not willing at all to cooperate or help you in any way that isn’t the most basic.

It feels like a super low cost clinic, but it isn’t.

p.d. Their answer is a classic GCRM answer. Sounds like a script, never putting your needs first. Like this reply. That’s their suggestion? Really? I live in Edinburgh as I stated in my OP. So they want me to go all the way to the clinic in Glasgow just to talk to them? We’re still in touch over the phone and every interaction is the same tone, same script replies, same lack of cooperation. We requested my patient records today, MY OWN INFORMATION (which isn’t really much tbh, its a couple of papers), and they said that takes 10 business days for them to be able to send me that. So even just to send me my own information, takes them 2 weeks. So no thanks, I won’t be going all the way to the clinic to talk to them. Not losing any more time and money in more interactions from scripted staff with their processes and procedures that never take the patient’s needs into account at all.
