Question 1

Does Shady Grove Fertility provide fertility treatment for same‑sex couples?

Accepted Answer

Shady Grove Fertility offers inclusive fertility care for same‑sex couples. The LGBTQIA+ Family Building section details services for lesbian women, gay men, and transgender individuals, including donor sperm, donor egg, IVF, intrauterine insemination (IUI), and gestational carrier coordination. The clinic also provides the ROPA (Reciprocal IVF) method for female couples and dual‑insemination protocols for male couples. Experienced reproductive endocrinologists and legal partners ensure that all aspects of third‑party reproduction are handled with sensitivity and expertise.

Question 2

What IVF laboratory technology does Shady Grove Fertility use?

Accepted Answer

The embryology laboratory at Shady Grove Fertility utilizes state‑of‑the‑art vitrification for cryopreserving eggs, sperm and embryos, a technique that rapidly freezes cells to prevent ice crystal formation and improve post‑thaw survival. Embryos are cultured to the blastocyst stage (day 5‑7) before transfer, and the lab employs advanced time‑lapse imaging to monitor embryo development without disturbance. All laboratory procedures follow strict quality‑control standards and are performed by a dedicated team of senior embryologists, ensuring high implantation and pregnancy rates across fresh and frozen cycles.

Question 3

Does Shady Grove Fertility treat single women seeking fertility treatment?

Accepted Answer

Shady Grove Fertility explicitly supports single women who wish to build a family. The clinic’s Single Parents page outlines dedicated resources for “single mothers by choice,” including access to donor sperm, donor egg, IVF, and egg‑freezing options. Patients receive individualized counseling, emotional support groups, and a multidisciplinary care team to guide them through every step of the fertility journey, ensuring that solo parents receive the same high‑quality assisted reproduction services as couples.

Question 4

Who are the fertility doctors and specialists at Shady Grove Fertility?

Accepted Answer

Shady Grove Fertility’s medical team includes board‑certified reproductive endocrinologists such as Dr. Shayne Plosker, M.D., Medical Director of the Tampa Bay region, who completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UCSF. The clinic also features urologists specializing in male factor infertility—Dr. Paul R. Shin, Dr. Russell Hayden, Dr. Jessica A. Marinaro, and Dr. Cori Tanrikut—alongside a staff of more than 1,000 highly trained professionals, including embryologists, nurses, and advanced practice providers. Together, these specialists deliver a full spectrum of assisted reproduction services, from basic ovulation induction to complex IVF with donor gametes, ensuring comprehensive, patient‑centered care.

Question 5

What is the history and background of Shady Grove Fertility?

Accepted Answer

Shady Grove Fertility was founded in 1991 by Dr. Michael J. Levy and Dr. Arthur W. Sagoskin, establishing one of the nation’s first dedicated IVF centers. Over more than three decades, the network has grown to 58 locations across the United States, treating over 100,000 patients and delivering more than 100,000 babies. The clinic has earned multiple recognitions, including Top Doctor awards and designation as an Aetna Institute of Excellence. Its commitment to innovation is reflected in pioneering programs such as the Shared Risk 100 % Refund Program and ongoing participation in clinical research trials.

Question 6

Does Shady Grove Fertility offer egg donation for IVF treatment?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Shady Grove Fertility provides a full donor‑egg program for patients who require or choose donor eggs. The clinic partners with Fairfax EggBank, offering a large, rigorously screened donor database and employing vitrification technology to preserve donor oocytes. Prospective parents receive personalized matching, comprehensive medical and psychological screening of donors, and legal support for donor agreements. Success rates for donor‑egg cycles are reported at approximately 85 % live‑birth rate, reflecting the high quality of the donor‑egg program and the clinic’s advanced IVF protocols.

Question 7

What are the IVF success rates at Shady Grove Fertility?

Accepted Answer

Shady Grove Fertility reports that 82 % of participants who undergo in vitro fertilization (IVF) with their own eggs achieve a live birth, while 85 % of patients using donor eggs achieve a live birth. These outcomes are derived from the clinic’s Shared Risk 100 % Refund Program, which tracks pregnancy success across all IVF and donor‑egg cycles and shows results comparable to the clinic’s overall IVF performance. The high success rates reflect Shady Grove’s extensive experience—over 30 years of practice and more than 100,000 babies born—as well as its use of advanced laboratory protocols, personalized treatment plans, and a large team of reproductive specialists. Patients benefit from age‑adjusted protocols and options such as preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) that further improve implantation and pregnancy outcomes.

Accepted Answer

Shady Grove Fertility provides a comprehensive menu of assisted reproduction options, including in vitro fertilization (IVF) with intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), preimplantation genetic testing (PGT‑A, PGT‑M, PGT‑SR), and frozen embryo transfer (FET).
