The first conversation went great, I felt like I was in good hands.
At the second appointment, an ultrasound was done, if you want to call it that. Climbing onto the chair took 1 minute at most.
The doctor then said that it might be approaching menopause and that we need to hurry, but otherwise everything looks good.
I had my blood taken and in the afternoon I received a call that literally said: “You are in the middle of menopause. Your AMH level is too low. We cannot help you. You can try egg donation, but that is not allowed in Germany. We have already had a lot of success with that.”
I had a nervous breakdown and went to my gynecologist the next day, who said it was total nonsense, he probably wants to keep his success rate up and recommended another clinic.
This is where I am now, I feel like I’m being taken seriously, everything is explained, mercilessly, even if it’s something negative.
Here my blood was taken on 3 specific days in the cycle and lo and behold: the AMH value fluctuates (which is probably usual) and all other blood values ​​and tests show that my egg cell reserve is coming to an end, but not that it is already too late!
In addition, I repeatedly received copies of emails that were supposed to go to an employee. After I brought this to the doctor’s attention, he said, in relation to my job, that transparency would also be important there. Yes, that’s true, but not the data of other patients…

The first contacts are amazing. Extremely friendly from the receptionists to the Dr. Jan Van Uem. He is honest, committed and doesn’t beat around the bush. Anyone who wants to have children is definitely in good hands here.

If the same fate plagues you

After about five months of interruption in the treatment process, I started a new attempt. The doctor’s skills and knowledge are proven, but it seems that he does not have enough patience and time for each patient. After each visit, my husband and I left the clinic with a lot of confusion about everything from how to take the medication to the entire treatment process. It seems like the doctor is frantic and wants to move on to the next patient immediately, which unfortunately causes a lot of stress for me. In addition, all treatment staff have changed compared to previous months, and I find it strange that there is no permanent contact person available in the clinic to accompany us throughout the entire treatment process. I hope that these comments will be read and the issues raised will be addressed so that all patients can navigate this stressful treatment process with more confidence. It couldn’t be worse…
I cannot recommend this KiWu clinic at all. The only positive thing is the parking situation and that appointments could be rescheduled relatively easily. Otherwise this clinic is not worth visiting. The check-up appointments are a pure assembly line process; there is no time to ask questions about the treatment. The explanations of what to do next are always quick, and I rarely felt sufficiently informed about, among other things, how to take medication. Instead of making quick jokes, the doctor should better invest his limited time in ensuring that the patient leaves the practice with a good feeling. The methods are outdated, as is the prescription of certain medications. There has been no further development here. The doctor follows the textbook, but not the woman’s individual cycle. Competent is different! Both the chief physician and his assistant lack any sensitivity to this topic. His last words to me during a treatment were that he is the boss here and he makes the rules here! Then I changed and am now in a practice that knows its stuff.

I rarely write reviews but this is important to me.
We have been with Dr. since the beginning of June 2024. Jan van Uem undergoing treatment. We didn’t like his style at all, which others criticize here. He was always friendly, answered our questions and with his humor he took my fears away. Now we have reached the goal of getting pregnant in November 2024 and we are very happy.

Our two daughters will be 31 years old on October 18th, the time around their due date is always very emotional for me. Dr. van Uem and the entire team were really nice and sensitive, I will never forget this time, – even after such a long time we are still grateful for the support, 1 attempt with 3 eggs and we had a main prize 🙏🥂😀

Cannot recommend the practice. Critical reviews disappear after a short time.

We had our initial consultation in January and felt completely in good hands. All the practice staff were friendly and the doctor took a lot of time for us. His humorous manner was a pleasant relief for this emotional topic. The first treatment attempts began, which were quite ok. After about two months the situation was like this: The doctor came to the appointment completely unprepared and had no idea where we were in the treatment. He didn’t have 5 minutes for each of us to make an appointment. His behavior was friendly, but still disrespectful: misogynistic sayings, touching my face and not taking my feelings seriously as examples of this. His behavior towards employees was also disrespectful and racist. They were not addressed by name but by their nationality.  The waiting times became longer and longer despite appointments that had been made for a long time; I had to plan over an hour for a short blood test. I had the worst experience with IVF: the explanation for the anesthesia, which was injected into me without warning, lasted 5 seconds. I was strapped to the equipment while still fully conscious. For two cryotransfers, which are about twice as expensive as in other clinics, I was not informed about the time of the appointment the day before, as promised. I was completely forgotten about one of them. I was only informed about the result of the pregnancy test because I called the emergency number. Another point of criticism: Very outdated devices and methods.

So I can only agree with the last reviews. There is one star for the parking spaces in front of the clinic and another for the hard-working staff, which I can only feel sorry for.

For a clinic that claims to have 30 years of experience, they are extremely unprofessional and rude! The doctor rarely responded to our inquiries and was only nice to us on the first day so he could win our business. The clinic staff is very friendly, but seems tired and overworked. After 6 months we received a negative result due to lack of communication and attention from the doctor. And what’s worse: He disrespected us by making racist statements about our immigration to Germany. I am considering contacting the medical board about this unprofessionalism and am very disappointed in the way he has treated us and his staff.

I went there for 2 checkups, everything was terrible, the doctor is very rude and he only has time for a simple ultrasound like on an object. The nurses are very afraid of the doctor and are incompetent in their work. During the second ultrasound, I left the practice crying and asked to have all the documents sent to me by mail. Terrible experience, not recommended
