My wife and I began this adventure a few years ago (2018) and, on the advice of our gynecologist from Turin (who turned out to be an Angel fallen from heaven in terms of his human aspect combined with a technical-scientific caliber, both extraordinary elements compared to other professionals we met along the way and who we want to be part of our lives forever), we decide to rely on FIV MADRID whose director and founder will immediately show us great empathy. We are well aware that these clinics are commercial enterprises and not voluntary associations. Well, Dr. RICCIARELLI provides us with technical advice to avoid failures as much as possible and above all waste of precious time for those who want a child in their arms, regardless of the obvious commercial choices made by other clinics, both on the Iberian peninsula and also on the Hellenic ones, to which we we are addressed, they had proposed to us. We begin to frequent Madrid which we obviously adore and in the meantime my wife undergoes the protocols required for assisted fertilization which we would have liked to decline in the singular and not in the plural. In fact, although there were no important organic reasons either for me or for my wife and despite the embryos fertilized and brought to blastocysts, congruent in numerical terms and valid in terms of quality (all always in class A), the implants did not lead to no lasting pregnancy. Obviously despair prevails over reason, because there will be as many as three failures in the space of four years, the last of which in July 2021 is a significant emotional defeat. We consider giving up. Dr. RICCIARELLI in a very sweet phone call (it won't be the first nor the last) tells us "guys, you mustn't give up. In due course, try again but you must not give up. You have to believe it." In November 2021 we decided to make one last attempt following pharmacological therapy against endometritis (my wife's) which we had all underestimated and which only our Turin gynecologist valorises as he is our reference professional in Italy. It will be the last attempt, we tell ourselves, and without disturbing religious arguments, we think that there is a destiny (sometimes adverse) even in a conscious choice full of sacrifices, including economic ones, like this one. So hormonal preparation, trip to Madrid with a longer stay than other times (more than a week), pick-up and transfer……. and then waiting, waiting and more waiting. First the positive betas which had been mocked almost all the previous times and then all the rest of the pregnancy tests and in the end...in the end the happy ending. Two wonderful twins (heterozygous as is obvious) that we welcomed and that we love (as is obvious) more than our own life. Thanks to Silvia from FIV MADRID of the Patient Service who, like an older sister, always followed us, at all times, with phone calls and messages and gave us every type of punctual and timely response, with the same empathy as the Founder. The latter as well as Silvia, as well as the embryologist Dr. Jorge (who we know has made an effort of equal value) will be for us, forever, the Angels who allowed us to become parents and there will not be enough time to be grateful to them and grateful.
