I will be as fair as possible with my review, but I will start by saying that with EJC, specifically with Nadia Caroppo, I managed to get pregnant on the first transfer with them after four implantation failures (two with my own eggs in public healthcare and two with egg donation at IVI). I had several fibroids and was always told they did not affect the uterine cavity, so nothing needed to be done with them. But Nadia was not satisfied with that and proposed a plan that, for some people, may be invasive, but it fit me: something different had to be done. I was not willing to repeat the same thing 100 times, which is what IVI proposed. At EJC, they first did a laparoscopy where they found endometriosis I did not know I had (I never had menstrual pain, so it was there without us knowing), they removed blocked fallopian tubes and several fibroids. Next was surgical hysteroscopy, where they also removed fibroids and polyps. Then the IVF where I got the first positive and I am now 9 weeks pregnant. According to my experience, EJC is ideal for cases like mine, where there are several previous failures and where the only response from standard clinics is "bad luck, keep trying" when there are several fibroids and I had more each time. Is it a coincidence that right after the operations I got a positive on the first transfer? We will never know, but it would certainly be too much of a coincidence. We are from the Canary Islands, so we did the treatment remotely. That complicated things a bit because we had to find gynecologists in my city to do cycle ultrasounds, MRIs, blood tests; after the transfer, ask to get injections at the health center... sometimes it is hard to find a gynecologist or doctor who does not judge you and does what you ask, and it sometimes became a struggle. It was quite cumbersome. But well, that is not the clinic's fault. As points to improve, especially in remote cases, I would say: - better follow-up of requests. Sometimes I had to remind Medical Attention to send me prescriptions, report requests, etc., and as a patient, I might not remember everything. - More planning to be able to request what we need from doctors here. For example, I had to get progesterone injections every 48 hours by a nurse (I could not do it myself), but it was not until very close to the transfer that they told me how it would be, meaning in 3 days I had to go urgently to my health center to talk to my doctor (when appointments are given more than 10 days later) to authorize the treatment, etc. And all this, even though I, from the moment I knew I had to inject myself, asked EJC to please tell me how it would be so I could calmly make an appointment with the doctor and explain well, and they only said "we'll tell you, we'll tell you." They should consider that getting a public health nurse to inject you every 2 days is not just saying "inject me this, come on." I even had to ask them to make a small note with the request, meaning... again, I have to be attentive to these things. - I would have appreciated more follow-up after the operations, even by phone. That said, as soon as I wrote an email to Medical Attention, they immediately called me to clarify any questions and always with a kind and close tone. So very good on that part. I say all this as suggestions, but I do not take away any stars from the review because the truly important thing is that I AM PREGNANT. So thank you, thank you, thank you to the team and Dr. Caroppo for working the miracle.
