CRGH Portland – Reviews and Prices

My experience over the years that I have been coming to CRGH has always been a positive one, even when the outcomes have not been what was wanted, the staff have been empathetic and kind. Dr Duran’s care has been brilliant. Every call was informative, clear and warm. I left each interaction with an understanding of what was going to happen next or with options for further care.
All of the nurses, sonographers, admin staff and receptionists were welcoming and supportive. It has been a good experience dealing with all of them.

Sadly we had a bad pre-treatment experience with CRGH which made us choose another clinic. They had a special offer for a free consultation, so we tried to book one and a rude sales person called to interrogate me about why we wanted the consultation and if we’ve had treatment before (we hadn’t). It was like they were annoyed we wanted the freebie. Very strange. Then they said my partner had already spoken to them about egg freezing several years ago (before she met me), so we’ll have to pay even though she wasn’t treated. We wouldn’t have minded if they’d explained it nicely but they were so cold and rude it gave us no confidence we’d be treated with compassion and respect if we chose them.

My husband and I started our journey with CRGH Portland in 2023 after having fertility tests at a different clinic and finding out that we would need fertility treatment in order to have a family. We moved clinics due to not feeling comfortable at the initial clinic. Our research on other clinics led us to CRGH and although we live 30miles outside of London and there were closer options, we applied to begin our treatment.

From the moment we moved to CRGH and after having our first appointment with Dr Duran we knew we had made the right decision. Dr Duran was amazing. She was empathetic and throughout the whole process we felt informed, given the choices available to us and Dr Duran’s professional opinion throughout which was invaluable.

All the rest of the staff at CRGH from the administrators to nurses and embryologists were kind, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to deliver a standard of care and professionalism. The app was invaluable and I utilised the message function to the nurses and admin team whenever I had a query. This was always answered within a few hours.

We have recently given birth to our beautiful baby girl through an embryo transfer and can’t believe we now have the family we longed for. We would recommend CRGH and Dr Duran to anyone, and we thank them for their help in creating our family.

I can’t say enough good things about my experience at CRGH. The entire team has been absolutely amazing—kind, empathetic, and incredibly supportive throughout this journey.

I don’t know my final results yet, but I just wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone at CRGH. Going through IVF is such an emotional experience, but having a team like this makes all the difference. Thank you for everything!

The worst experience of any clinic I have been to. Challenges run from being sent multiple contradicting plans to being sent unexpected invoices the day before appointments and threatened with cancelling treatments if those invoices are not paid. From being sent private medical details of other patients to having to project manage the process myself because departments don’t speak to each other. I’ve just received a letter for payment years after using them with no idea what it’s for and with no communication for many years about anything outstanding.

If you raise any concerns about their process it is never acknowledged it is their fault. Look through trust pilot rather than google for what appears to be honest reviews. Another great resource is glassdoor if you want to get the employee’s perspective.

I cannot recommend DRGH highly enough, especially Dr Duran. After many months of preparation and strictly following Dr Duran’s plan, I am now 15 weeks pregnant. We are very fortunate, however I need to emphasise that we have followed the plan exactly without cutting any corners. We did all the possible tests and embryo tests and with the expertise of Dr Duran, the plan has worked out.

CRGH provides caring, honest and evidence based fertility plans. Excellent communication. Expert and tailored care received from Dr Duran.

A year late but I wanted to personally thank Dr Duran and the team at CRGH. We had a round elsewhere and didn’t go to plan and it seems we were left at the wayside to pick up he pieces ourselves so went to CRGH after friend recommendations.

It is a busy clinic. When you go, you may not see the same nurse twice, finance team can be a bit demanding and difficult, but overall the clinic is worth any negative for the far outweighing positives.

Dr Duran rang me at 7pm on a Friday before a bank holiday weekend to avoid wasting any more time in getting my round started. One of her team were always available by email if she wasn’t.

The embryologists are fabulous and were ringing me when I was away to update me on the progress of our embryos at times that worked for me because of the time difference.

The nursing team answered my many emails whenever I needed it.

The outcome? I have a beautiful daughter who turned one on the weekend.

If you want hand holding and coffee and cakes every time you come then this might not be the place for you, but if you want results I would highly recommend Dr Duran.

My partner and I used CRGH for just over 2 years, going through IUI and then IVF, and I highly recommend this place for your fertility journey. Dr Duran is amazing, and has set the bar so high that I fear I will never meet another Doctor who can compare. Beyond her vast medical knowledge, what makes Dr Duran so great is her warmth and empathy. This has been a long (but ultimately successful) journey and throughout it all both myself and my partner felt that Dr Duran was there with us every step of the way; supporting and encouraging us, advising and informing us, and generally being a beacon through some very dark times. (Ps – her Secretary, Christine, is pretty great too).

The Nursing Team (led wonderfully by Anca Capotescu) are great and another layer of support. They were always at the end of the phone if we needed anything, always made time for a face to face, and always answered my stupid questions with grace.

Like other reviewers have said, the finance team is abysmal, but you don’t go to a fertility clinic for their accounts clerks, you go for the Doctors and Nurses, and CRGH have the best.

Please be aware of the aggressive finance department which posts invoices incorrectly and in some cases months early or late and then chases them using bullying tactics and refuses to provide full responses to queries about unexpected fees, adding significant stress.
